Sydney's Q Station has fast become one of the city's most successful heritage sites, combining stylish accommodation with spectacular views and a fascinating history. Preserved within 30 acres of the Sydney Harbour National Park at North Head, Q Station occupies the site of Australia's first and longest-running quarantine station, a temporary home for more than 13,000 people over 150 years of operation. Carefully restored and sympathetically adapted at a cost of more than AUD19 million, it now operates as a profitable tourism venture while at the same time funding the preservation of its historic buildings and artefacts. Q Station's location is among the most dramatic in Sydney - secluded in a sandy cove beside native bushland and towering cliffs, with views spanning the broadest reaches of the harbour from the city to the seaside suburb of Manly. It takes 35 minutes to reach from the city centre.

Narrabeen Beach is one of Australia's iconic surfing and swimming beaches. Over three kilometres of sand stretch from Long Reef in the south to the Narrabeen Lagoon entrance in the north, with four surf lifesaving clubs along the beach providing qualified, volunteer lifesaver patrols to protect swimmers and surf/beach users. Swimmers should always swim between the flags which are erected while there are patrols present (each Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday). There are numerous rips along the beach. Narrabeen Beach Surf Life Saving Club is located in the centre of the beach in a large park with picnic tables, toilets, showers (external) and a popular children's play area/picnic area/barbecue. The Surf Club has recently completed extensive rebuilding and with a floor-to-ceiling ocean vista and beautiful polished wooden floors, now offers a very popular venue for weddings and functions.
