Set in the Sydney's beautiful domain, a summer calendar would be naked with out it! Each year there is a theme for the films submitted, known as the Tropfest Signature Item. The Tropfest Signature Item for 2013 is 'BALLOON. The atmosphere is electric and the film screening is well attended by Australian movie celebrities and thousands of Sydneysiders supporting this event. The Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race 2013 will be conducted on the waters of Sydney Harbour, the Tasman Sea, Storm Bay and the Derwent River. Over the past 68 years, the Rolex Sydney Hobart has become an icon of Australia's summer sport, ranking in public interest with such national events as the Melbourne Cup horse race, the Davis Cup tennis and the cricket tests between Australia and England. No regular annual yachting event in the world attracts such huge media coverage than does the start on Sydney Harbour. Participants from maxi yachts to weekend racers take part in this event, which starts from Nielsen Park in Sydney Harbour and takes the international fleet 628 nautical miles to the finish line in the Derwent River, Hobart.

The inaugural Twilight Parade in 2012 involved almost 3,000 performers and drew crowds of more than 100,000 people to the festival's most beautiful event. Local and international participants are planning some spectacular parade entries and performances celebrating Chinese Australian culture and the Lunar New Year. Come to the parade early to secure a good viewing location, and follow the parade to Darling Harbour afterwards to celebrate with a fireworks display. The 19th Biennale of Sydney: You Imagine What You Desire, curated by Juliana Engberg, will open to the public from 21 March until 9 June 2014. The Biennale of Sydney is a non-profit organisation that presents Australia's largest and most exciting contemporary visual arts event. Held every two years, the Biennale presents a three-month exhibition, with an accompanying program of artist talks, performances, forums, film screenings, family events, guided tours and other special events, all FREE to the public. The inaugural Biennale of Sydney was staged in 1973 to provide an international showcase for contemporary art. Its aim was to develop and present a program that challenged traditional thinking and encouraged new levels of enthusiasm for innovative creative expression.
