Now in its fifth year, Melbourne Music Week (MMW) takes over Melbourne once again with a carefully curated program of imaginative and eclectic events. Melbourne Music Week celebrates and supports the city's thriving, world-class music scene, and the program this year is the biggest yet. More than 100 events, more than 230 artists, and a staggering 75 event partners come together to create a diverse line-up, staged in almost 60 unique locations across the city. More than just a music festival, Melbourne Music Week brings together a vast array of creative industries to create a colourful mash-up of music, art, multimedia, film and everything in between. Industry veterans preform alongside new talent, and Melbourne's celebrated venues are ignited alongside the city's hidden gems. Melbourne Music Week is the only event of its type in Australia. Many of the events featured are exclusive to Melbourne, and all have a unique connection to our music city. 75% of artists involved Melbourne Music Week's program are from Victoria, and through partnerships with a range of local promoters, venues, labels and businesses, the event creates remarkable opportunities for artists and audiences alike. Proudly produced by the City of Melbourne, Melbourne Music Week utilises a unique model of co-production to support the sector, with all event revenue funnelling back into the industry itself.

The 2015 Medibank Melbourne Marathon Festival date is yet to be confirmed. Melbourne staged its first marathon in 1978 on a course that began in Frankston, headed up Nepean Highway and finished outside the Melbourne Town Hall. Over 2000 runners took part in the inaugural event, which has since been held every year. In 2012 the Medibank Melbourne Marathon Festival made history, becoming the largest Marathon in Australia with 7,112 participants entering the event. The event retained its title in 2013 with 8,066 entries in the marathon and 6,857 finishers. The Medibank Melbourne Marathon Festival offers a choice of five distances - the Medibank Melbourne Marathon (42.195km), Flight Centre Half Marathon (21.1km), The Coffee Club 10km, ASICS 5km Run and ASICS 3km Walk

This intimate, boutique tournament has become the traditional Australian Open preparation for eight of the world's top players. The "promotion/relegation" format allows each to play three matches at Kooyong, the spiritual home of Australian tennis, over the four day period, while tuning up for the first Grand Slam of the year. Australia's own Bernard Tomic, in winning the 2012 event, joined an elite list of past champions, including Roger Federer, Andy Roddick, Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Lleyton Hewitt and Michael Chang. A popular inclusion in the past two years has been exhibition matches by some of the great Legends of the game interspersed throughout the event. Showcasing world-class present and former players appeals to both the younger and older generations.

Melburnians are invited to experience ART + MEL- an immerse two day art event without the white walls on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November 2014. Presented by Redbubble, Australia's finest online marketplace for independent artists, ART+MEL will take local art out of the galleries and onto the streets, with two interactive hot spots in the heart of the CBD. Head quartered and founded in Melbourne, Redbubble represents over 250,000 creative artists world-wide. The event is set to showcase local artists whose work is currently found on the Redbubble website. ART+MEL is designed to bring art into the everyday, encouraging people to experience art through unique creations. An unexpected bedroom setting and floating gallery at Federation Square will display the original work of over 100 Melbourne artists, with live art courtesy of local illustrator Justine McAllister. Art lovers can grab a free Code Black coffee at Federation Square before moving on to witness a pop-up installation by prominent street artists Kaitlin Beckett and Matthew Dunn, and watch as they add another layer of vibrancy to one of Melbourne's infamous laneways.
