If you've never fossicked before, that's not a problem. At Gemtree everything is done to make your gem fossicking experience fun, exciting and rewarding. Tagalong tours depart at 8.30am daily to the surrounding gemfields during 1st March to 31st October, but bookings are essential and numbers are limited. With the right equipment and local knowledge of your guide, you will discover the excitement of finding your own gemstones. You can even have your gems cut and polished by the resident gemcutter or arrange to have them set into jewellery as a memento of your outback experience. There is an exquisite selection of 9 carat gold and sterling silver jewellery in the gemroom. Gemtree offer a range of tagalong tours from half day to full day and self drive four-wheel drive tours, where mud maps of the region are supplied for four-wheel drive enthusiasts with a security record required and checked on your return.
