Whitehaven Xpress is a family operated cruise with Jill, Dan and Shane providing a personal service for visitors to the Whitsunday Islands with three relaxing destinations. Eco Barge Clean Seas Inc. operates the Marine Debris Removal Program for the Whitsunday Islands and coastlines. They offer volunteers a unique, hands-on conservation experience. You will spend a day picking up marine debris on the beaches and coastlines of the spectacular Whitsunday Islands. The islands are located at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park in tropical North Queensland. The majority of the Whitsunday Islands are never visited by major tour operators. By collecting marine debris, you will be contributing directly to the conservation of the Whitsunday and Great Barrier Reef region's unique marine life. You will be helping keep these world famous seas and coastlines pristine and clean of marine debris. You will spend time on the stunning blue Whitsunday waters, travelling on a commercial barge with a group of no more than 12 people. You will get the chance to wade to shore in tropical waters. You will enjoy good weather, lush scenery and a deeply rewarding, hands-on team experience. You will need to be relatively fit and will be provided with refreshments, a delicious buffet lunch and all safety and specialist equipment.
