Australian Wildlife, Island and Bush

Day 1: Start your day with a group tour through Billabong Sanctuary Wildlife Park, where you can peer at koalas, kangaroos, wombats and crocodiles and other Australian animals. Enjoy a private lunch on the Strand Beachfront before heading to Reef HQ, – the world’s largest living coral reef aquarium. Learn about the myriad of marine life on the Great Barrier Reef, catch a dive show or visit the turtle hospital. In the late afternoon, you’ll be whisked across to Magnetic Island on a private catamaran. You’ll spend the night in Peppers Blue on Blue Resort, which sits on the waterfront in lush landscaped surrounds. Unwind with a hot stone massage in the Endote Spa before a private dinner overlooking the marina.

Day 2: Head to Bungalow Bay Koala Village for a gourmet bush-tucker breakfast complete with a glass of guava and champagne. Alternatively, meet koalas, wombats and baby crocodiles on a private two-hour tour through the village. Spend the afternoon enjoying one of the island’s many activities, which range from relaxing to heart-racing. Go snorkelling, join a jet-ski tour or dive off the beach. After lunch, return to Townsville and head north to see shy platypus feeding and frolicking in the rainforest on the Hidden Valley Safari. Savour the local flavours of a home-cooked dinner before a private night-safari to spot rare nocturnal gliders, possums, wallabies and birds. Stay overnight in Hidden Valley Cabins, an award-wining eco-resort.

Day 3: After a leisurely breakfast, head back to Townsville, where you may have time for another visit to Reef HQ. Take a dive in the Predator Tank and learn about the complex feeding patterns of reef fish.
