Sydney experiences and attractions
Sydney Fish Markets
Sydney Fish Market offers visitors the opportunity to experience the colour and chaos of an authentic and large working fish market. Business begins at 5.30 am when the seafood buyers arrive to check the day's catch before they are auctioned. Visitors have the opportunity to take a behind the scenes tour and see all the action. Watch as Sydney Rock Oysters are freshly shucked before purchasing a couple of dozen to enjoy at the tables overlooking the water by Blackwattle Bay. Or cross the street and sit in the park and enjoy the ultimate Sydney picnic under the giant fig trees. The Sydney Seafood School is also located at the market. It holds a variety of seafood cookery classes including some by Australia's leading chefs.
