This four day itinerary explores Western Australia’s remote Kimberley region and the Bungle Bungle range in the World Heritage-listed Purnululu National Park. Experience working cattle stations, historic homesteads and unique luxury wilderness camps; with dining experiences that are as much an attraction as the stunning scenery and endless starry skies.
Day 3: Morning
Depart for the Purnululu National Park via an air charter transfer with Slingair Heliwork. Arrive at the Purnululu Bungle Bungle Airstrip where you will be transferred to an overnight camp site on the fringe of the Bungle Bungle Ranges.
Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungle)
One of the most fascinating geological landmarks in Western Australia. From an aircraft, the Bungle Bungle Range is an imposing sight. The orange and black stripes across the beehive-like mounds, encased in a skin of silica and algae, are clearly visible as you approach from the south. As you sweep further over the range a hidden world of gorges and pools is revealed, with fan palms clinging precariously to walls and crevices in the rocks. You can also explore Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungle) by taking the guided walks or camp out for a couple of days in comfort under the stars at the Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge.
Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge (APT)
When it comes to accommodation in Purnululu National Park, Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge sets a standard all of its own. The lodge's unique tented cabins in the heart of Purnululu National Park are designed to maximise the bush environment experience and are likely to be one of the highlights of your holiday. Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge is open between April - October.
