This five day itinerary showcases some of Tasmania’s most incredible scenery and natural wonders while staying at premium wilderness retreats. Whether you are seeking adventure, romance or rejuvenation, you can be as relaxed or as active as you wish in the breathtaking environment of the Freycinet Peninsula and historic Hobart town.

Day 4: Morning

Depart Saffire and transfer to Hobart.

Enjoy lunch and wine tasting at the Source Restaurant at Moorilla Estate.

Moorilla Estate
Moorilla is a winery located in the suburb of Berriedale, 12km north of the city centre of Hobart. It was established in 1958 by Italian-Australian former textile merchant Claudio Alcorso. The winery produces a number of cool climate wines and also produces five beers under the label Moo Brew.

Day4: Afternoon/Evening

After lunch take a guided tour of the Museum of Old and New Art.

Museum of Old and New Art (MONA)
Located on the same site as Moorilla, the Museum of Old and New Art is Australia’s largest private museum.  Owner David Walsh likens the museum to a ‘subversive adult Disneyland.’ Take your time and wander through three levels of subterranean art space, built into a sandstone cliff face.
Depart MONA for Hobart by ferry.

Hobart
Rated the world's third most photogenic city by Lonely Planet guide readers, Hobart is Tasmania's capital and Australia's second oldest city, after Sydney. Settled in 1804 beside the wide Derwent River, it has rainforest, mountain and beaches on its outskirts. Its built heritage, mostly restored, reflects a colourful colonial history founded on convicts, whalers, wealthy merchants and seamen.

These days the southern city has a population of about 205,000 and is known for its innovative arts and crafts, maritime lifestyle, festivals and annual blue water classic, the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.

Arrive at the Brooke St Ferry Terminal transfer to your hotel. Stay the night at the Islington Hotel or the Henry Jones Art Hotel. Have dinner at Smolt Restaurant.

A joint venture with Tasmanian salmon producer Tassal, this restaurant in Hobart's Salamanca Square showcases an extensive tapas menu along with a range of mains inspired by the southern regions of Spain and Italy. Smolt also offers a premium selection of Tasmanian and European wines.
