Lisa's Trip Notes
- I did not expect to find… me holding a baby kangaroo that looked like Gollum.
- My most challenging moment… Going home.
- My most memorable moment… floating down the Murray at sunset with the light bathing everything in a golden glow. The cliff walls blazing red. Incredible.
- I would go back to Barossa for the… wine, food , people and scenery. And back to the Murray for the relaxation, wildlife and stunning landscape.
- What made North East Victoria 'My Kind of Place' was… It's an all round package, easy to get to, fabulous people, beautiful scenery, so varied, it's an un-tapped mine as a holiday destination so no fighting crowds, just complete relaxation.
Josh's Trip Notes
- I did not expect to find… Such a great range of local products and also to be able to meet some wonderful people doing great things with food and wine and total commitment to honest use of the ingredients.
- My most challenging moment… Cantering on a horse, was one of the few times I have been on one but such a great way to get around in that part of the world.
- My most memorable moment… Riding the bike through the amazing network which was the rail trail, such an amazing way to travel from town to town and great use of unused rail systems.
- I would go back to North East Victoria for the… cheese from Milawa and the butter from Myrtleford butter factory.
- What made North East Victoria 'My Kind of Place' was… The food and wine, the scenery and the people.
Antonia's Trip Notes
- I did not expect to find… such diversity of landscape. In the same day we saw soaring cliffs, beautiful rivers, coral reefs, lush bush and, my favourite, wallabies and kangaroos.
- My most challenging moment… was just before I jumped into the water to swim with the whale sharks. I had never done anything like that before so I was really nervous.
- My most memorable moment… Just after my most challenging one! As soon as I was in the water I saw the whale shark swimming towards me and it was a sight I will remember for the rest of my life. All my fear and anxiety completely disappeared and I loved every minute of my swim.
- I would go back to Western Australia for the… temperature of the water. It feels like you're swimming in a bath, we never get anywhere those temperatures in New Zealand.
- What made Western Australia 'My Kind of Place' was… so many things! The food, the wine, the people - who were always so gracious and welcoming. The climate, the sense of space and the huge range of things to do. I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface of what is on offer there, I will definitely go back.

- My most memorable moment… Difficult to say… there were so many… Entering MONA for the first time, the first sight of Hobart from the air, the Henry Jones hotel, Port Arthur and the people I met there.
- I would go back to… MONA… I'd love to stay in one of the pavilions and have time to enjoy the full MONA experience.
- What made Tasmania 'My Kind of Place' was… The landscape, the history, the food and the people… not necessarily in that order!
