The Northern Territory is Australia's real outback. It is home to over 50 National parks, each containing a multitude of different landscapes, from wetlands, to desert, to beaches and rainforests. The Top End can be visited year round due to its tropical climate. Its day temperatures average between 30 and 35 degrees all year round. The dry season is May – October and has hot sunny days while the wet season is November to April and can be hot and humid with tropical storms. As you venture further inland toward the red centre, it turns into a semi –arid climate. The hottest days are from December to February, averaging 35 degrees whereas June – August sees the lowest temperatures (still averaging 20 degrees) with night temperatures as low as 3 degrees.
