On 25 April 2015 dawn services will be held across Australia in remembrance of Australians who served and died in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. 2015 holds great significance as it marks the 100th anniversary of the landings at Gallipoli.

Australia will be commemorating the ANZAC Centenary with a number of events and exhibitions held around the country.

WW1 Centenary Exhibition, Melbourne, VIC

NoMansLanding, Sydney, NSW
2 April – 3 May 2015
Darling Harbour will host the world premiere of NoMansLanding, a large scale installation to commemorate the Centenary of the ANZACs. Darling Harbour’s anniversary program will also feature a Poppy Remembrance Wall, educational tours and a talk at the Australian National Maritime Museum.

The WW1 Centenary Exhibition, Melbourne, VIC
From 18 April 2015
The critically acclaimed WW1 collections of Imperial War Museums (IWM) will travel to the Melbourne Museum for The WW1 Centenary Exhibition. This exhibition includes original artefacts, dramatic film, rare artworks, sounds and images that bring to life the experience and personal stories of the war.

24 – 25 April 2015
Held in selected cities across Australia, Camp Gallipoli commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing at a special night of remembrance and entertainment while sleeping under the stars.

Of all the dawn services held around Australia, this is the most significant. Held at the Australian War Memorial, the ceremony starts early at 4:30am with excerpts read from letters and diaries of Australians who experienced war firsthand. At 5:30am the official dawn services begin with the traditional order of service including the ANZAC dedication, laying of wreaths, prayer and hymns, sounding of The Last Post and the observance of one minute’s silence.

This annual commemoration event takes over the streets of the Sydney central business district. Thousands of people look on as veterans, school children, servicemen and women march in remembrance of Australian soldiers who have served and died in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. The parade concludes with a Commemoration Service at the War Memorial in Hyde Park.
