The Act-Belong-Commit Augusta Adventure Fest (AAF) is widely recognized as The World's Biggest Adventure Race, attracting over 10,500 competitors and spectators to the regional township of Augusta. The event is held in high repute as a result of the spectacular off-road course, the sheer scale and event atmosphere generated, the friendliness and engagement of the locals and the associated media attention it attracts. The three events - the adventure race, the mini adventure race and the junior event, Junior Survivor - collectively attract more than 3,300 competitors each year with all events filling to capacity within two days of entries opening - making the weekend the biggest adventure race in the world by participation. There is also a Tri Nations Adventure Racing Trophy as part of the AAF with three elite, individual athletes coming from South Africa and New Zealand to race as a team against elite Australian athletes.

The 2014 Margaret River Pro became a Men's and Women's ASP World Championship Tour event for the first time in 20 years, with the world's best heading to Margaret River to battle it out for crucial points towards the World Title and big prize money. Surfer's Point in Prevelly is the home of the event with all three surf breaks visible to patrons. The re-developed Surfer's Point (or Mainbreak) is the main event arena, with Southsides also available; however the notorious and hollow, shallow reef barrel of The Box is a new addition to the event and organisers are excited to see what happens when the surfers tackle this tricky break. There will be plenty of action both in and out of the water in this prime Western Australian location.

Cape to Cape MTB is a four day mountain bike race through the Margaret River region, set to an iconic backdrop of world famous surf beaches, private farmlands, wineries, rocky outcrops and national forest. The 2013 event reached its 1,200 rider capacity in July, three months ahead of the event. Each year a large number of national and international elite mountain bike riders descend on the south west region of Western Australia specifically for the Cape to Cape. The mix of riding trails from world famous beaches to rock paths through the pines forest, make the Cape to Cape one of the most popular and well recognised endurance stage races in Australia.

The Denmark Festival of Voice is a celebration of the human voice with a focus on community singing. The Hidden Treasures of the Great Southern will be hosting its fourth Bloom Festival this year. The Great Southern blooms at this time of year with vast areas of lush green fields in crop and golden canola in bloom. There are less obvious treasures hiding in the bush and reserves such as rare spider orchids, cowslips and donkey orchids.
