Uncover the diversity of Australia’s Aboriginal tourism experiences.

When visiting Australia, whether you are in a city, travelling the outback or enjoying a coastal holiday, there are Aboriginal tourism experiences that can connect you with the world’s oldest living culture.

Discover Australia's Aboriginal tourism experiences

This short film, created by Australian directors Brendan Fletcher and Warwick Thornton, showcases some of the amazing Aboriginal tourism experiences that are on offer throughout Australia.

Shot in five states and territories across the country, the film shows how you can incorporate Aboriginal experiences into your Australian holiday in ways that are more meaningful than just exploring on your own.

These unique activities let you discover remote beaches, lush rainforests, hidden waterfalls, the rugged outback and spectacular gorges across the country. You can also taste the unique flavours of the Australian bush, experience the healing powers of nature, view ancient rock art galleries and participate in Aboriginal art workshops.

Kooljaman, Dampier Peninsula, WA

Kooljaman, Western Australia

The distinctive red cliffs of Cape Leveque in Western Australia play host to Kooljaman, an Aboriginal owned safari camp. The local Bardi people, who are traditional hunters and gatherers, share their knowledge of spear making, traditional fishing, survival techniques, mud crabbing and bush foods. Take advantage of the area’s beautiful coastal location and go swimming, snorkelling and fishing while you’re there.

Mossman Gorge, Daintree National Park, QLD

Mossman Gorge Centre, Queensland

Meanwhile, in Far North Queensland, the Mossman Gorge Centre is set in the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest, a place that holds particular significance to the local Aboriginal people. Aboriginal guides are on hand to show you more about the local culture and help you learn about the spectacular landscape.
