Learn to surf
Surfing is a way of life in Byron Bay and there is no better way to experience Byron like a local than standing atop a freshly waxed surfboard for the first time. Byron Bay Surf School boasts a range of professional surf instructors who are very experienced and will have you riding across the glassy blue water of The Pass or Main Beach in no time!

Sunset dining at Byron Beach Café, Byron Bay, New South Wales

Dine under the stars
Situated behind the golden sands of Clarkes Beach, Byron Beach Café lets you take in the view from Julian Rocks to Cape Byron Marine Park. Stop by and enjoy a coffee in the morning or dine out under the stars to a relaxing soundtrack of crashing waves. The award-winning Byron Beach Café combines some of the most incredible views in Australia with a memorable range of dining experiences.

Go swimming at a secluded beach
Secluded stretches of white sand surrounded by rainforest are a speciality of Byron and surrounds and, while there are many to explore, Cosy Corner and White’s Beach are two of the best. Head to Cosy Corner, located at the northern end of Tallow Beach and just below the Cape Byron Lighthouse for a relaxed shelter from the wind and, for keen surfers, some of the best waves in Byron. Alternatively, White’s Beach is one of the area’s most untouched beaches with a national park and ancient headlands surrounding it. To get there, take the national park turnoff at Broken Head and continue until you reach a sign for White’s Beach.

Visit Minyon Falls
Situated in the historic Nightcap National Park about 45 mins from Byron Bay, Minyon Falls is a breathtaking natural wonder that shows a different side to this part of Australia. The falls stand at over 100 metres in height, sending torrents of water crashing into the crystal waters of the pool below. The Minyon Loop Walking Track in Nightcap National Park may be a hard walk, but you will be rewarded with a refreshing swim at this hidden gem deep within the rainforest.

Kayak with Dolphins off the Cape
To see Byron from every possible angle, take to the water. Grab a kayak and paddle out into the azure waters of the Cape Byron Marine Park where you’ll share waves with dolphins and can admire Cape Byron’s beauty from an entirely new perspective. Cape Byron Kayaks provides a range of tours to get you up close to these creatures in their natural habitat.
