Gippsland in eastern Victoria is gourmet country, dotted with wineries, cheese-making factories, fruit and berry farms and farmer’s markets selling organic fruit and vegetables.

Warragul offers a wide array of restaurants and wineries where you can settle in for an evening of boutique local wine and fine cuisine. Pick your own fresh berries from orchards; or if you're holidaying in March, plan your trip around one of the many events at the Palate of Passions festival.

Take time out to relax at the port precinct in Sale, which has a fine selection of cafes and restaurants, or check out local artistic talents at the renowned Gippsland Art Gallery.

Follow the Twin Rivers Food and Wine Trail and discover the Bairnsdale region's wineries, restaurants, farms and fruit orchards. Explore the town’s heritage buildings, local art galleries, museums, craft and antique shops.

Gippsland's wineries have a growing reputation for producing premium, cool climate wines, with full fruit flavours to partner the region's fresh food. There are more than 40 cellar doors open to the public as well some excellent local breweries. The main wine regions include Phillip Island, Wilsons Promontory, Lakes Entrance and Ninety Mile Beach
