What To Expect
From humble beginnings as the Hot and Spicy Food Festival, the Noosa International Food & Wine Festival celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2013. The festival has always strived to attract the créme de la créme of foodinistas, wine luminaries, gastronomes, home chefs and hungry holidaymakers, and each year the festival’s stellar line-up of events is a testament to its growing reputation with food fanatics everywhere.
Festival favourites such as the lifestyle lunches, riverside picnics, wine masterclasses, themed dinners and degustations and guest chefs at Sunshine Coast restaurants are the order of the day. A 60s beach party and olive oil tastings have also popped up on the program in past years, while lots of live music is always on offer, to dance to and burn off extra calories consumed during the day.
You can also expect to get involved in some innovative events, a là 2013’s gala opening concert, Edible Music: it was a world-first event, combining the talents of several of Australia's most acclaimed musicians with 10 of the world's foremost chefs from the S. Pellegrino World's Best Restaurants list.
There were also sublime sunset concerts with drinks and canapes at the Noosa National Park Lookout in a special festival marquee, followed by dinner at three of Noosa's premium restaurants, while the Barefoot Beach Marquee on Noosa's Main Beach hosted the Australian final of the World Class Cocktails Competition, a Food and Cocktail Pairing Dinner, Seafood Feast on the Beach and a Japanese/Indian Lunch with matched beers from Asahi and Kingfisher.
