THINGS TO DO

Experience the full throttle atmosphere

General Admission ticketholders should perch on Brocky’s Hill to experience the full speed atmosphere of the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix. From here you can see the cars charge out of turn nine and 10 into one of the longest straights on the course. Over the four days, you’ll be able to see V8 Supercars, the Porsche Carrera Cup, historic cars, and precision aerobatics by the Royal Australian Air Force. Stunt shows, DJs, art installations, food trucks and family entertainment are also in the mix. If you can only make it to one day of the event, Saturday is a must. With the most on-track racing, including two Formula One sessions, it’s your chance to see everything the event has to offer.

Rub shoulders with celebrities

Purchase a ticket to the Formula One Paddock Club™, or “Golden Mile” for the full VIP treatment. Located directly above the team garages and overlooking the pit lane, you get intimate views right into the heart of the action. You’re far from the crowds in your own exclusive club with a distinct ‘Members Only’ feel. This is where you’ll rub shoulders with celebrities such as Charlize Theron, Eric Bana, John Travolta, Lenny Kravitz, Nicholas Cage and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who in previous years have made the trip over for the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix. Torque Bar offers another great vantage point for watching the cars roar out of the pit lane.

Meet the drivers

Get to the F1® Fan Zone Stage on Thursday to meet your racing idols and receive their highly coveted signatures before Friday’s first practice session. The Coates Hire V8 Village Stage will host daily signing sessions with V8 Supercars drivers, the renowned Grid Girls, FMX riders and Airforce pilots. Head for the Formula One Paddock Club™, where the drivers and teams relax in their hospitality suites between track sessions. Grandstand and corporate ticket holders sometimes get the chance to have a quick chat with the drivers as they take to the Melbourne Walk to the Formula One Paddock every day.

DON’T MISS

The Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix is renowned for its parties that take over Melbourne during March. The warm weather means it’s the perfect opportunity to make the most of Melbourne’s outdoor bars, and there’s plenty of great watering holes around Albert Park and in the city centre. Climb to the seventh floor of Curtin House to reach Rooftop Bar, a hotspot known for its excellent drinks, delicious burgers and impressive gaze over the city.

HOW TO GET THERE

Three designated Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix tram routes operate from Swanston and Spencer Streets in the city centre during the event, and are free to ticket holders. There is also a free shuttle bus from Crown Casino during the morning and afternoon. Walking is another option: Albert Park is only three kilometres (1.9 miles) from Melbourne’s city centre.
