How We Chased the Sun

When people dream of holidaying in Australia, they instinctively think of the sun.

Starting with the first light of day at dawn, and right through to sunset, the sun changes the way that our iconic locations look and feel. We wanted you to be able to experience these changes by visiting a range of unique destinations through the lens of a timelapse video.

When thinking about how to share Australia’s beauty in this way, we thought who better to capture it than the people who live in, and love, the different parts of Australia that they call home. Through our social media platforms we have discovered a great number of passionate locals who enjoy sharing images of their surrounds with us. And so, we invited some of these talented photographers to capture a day in the life of Australia.

Mark Seabury captured the icons of Sydney Harbour in New South Wales, Matt Glastonbury uncovered the beauty of Hobart and surrounds in Tasmania, Ben Goode explored the majestic scenery of Kangaroo Island in South Australia, Martin Ollman experienced the culture of Canberra in Australia’s Capital Territory, Philip Schubert photographed the beautiful Bungle Bungles of Western Australia, Jewels Lynch took a snapshot of the action on Queensland’s Gold Coast, Ellenor Argyropoulos captured the atmosphere of buzzing Melbourne in Victoria and Damien Hill unveiled the sheer majesty of World Heritage-listed Uluru in the Northern Territory.

We hope that you enjoy watching “Chase the Sun” as much as these incredible photographers enjoyed creating it.
