Once you’re off the boat ride or seaplane, the island’s friendly owners will be there to greet you. Roy and Anna Turner have been on Haggerstone Island for 30 years and are always willing to share a story or two, especially Roy, who is an ex-Crocodile Hunter.
Roy says, “I enjoy showing people what we have in our region - and sharing what is, after 30 years, an intricate knowledge of the area. I enjoy watching people relax literally before my eyes.”
The Turners were led by a desire to create a Robinson Crusoe style abode in the wild, and luckily, on their doorstep, is one of the world’s greatest marine wonders, the Great Barrier Reef.
“We tailor every activity and every day to what our guest's would like to experience; whether that is snorkelling the edge of the continental shelf, or adventuring up a prehistoric river system to fish for Barramundi,” Roy says.
