The XXI Commonwealth Games will be a great time to visit the Gold Coast. 


The Commonwealth Games is an international, multi-sport event with athletes competing from the 70 Nations and Territories of the Commonwealth. This unique, world class event has been running since 1930 and is held every four years. In 2018, the Games come to the Gold Coast, Queensland.  The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) will be the largest sporting event in Australia this decade, and the biggest sporting event ever held on the Gold Coast. The iconic destination will welcome over 6,600 athletes and team officials, and around 15,000 volunteers for this extraordinary event.  All eyes will be on the Gold Coast as supporters and visitors, along with a global broadcast audience of 1.5billion, will watch as 18 sports and seven para-sports are contested.   

The perfect time to visit the Gold Coast - the city will be alive with festivities showcasing the rich arts and culture from throughout the Commonwealth as well and the laid-back coastal lifestyle and sunshine that the Gold Coast is famous for.
