Home to quaint villages, rolling hills, beautiful scenery, iconic events and numerous food and wine experiences, Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula are a short 45 minute drive west of Melbourne. Visitors can explore tranquil seaside villages, meet local makers and growers and wander down historic streetscapes. Gourmands will love the burgeoning foodie scene, complete with craft breweries, local wineries and a countryside peppered with farm gates, producers and provedores.

Day 1: Explore the Gardens, dine and stay at Brae

Brae, Birregurra, Victoria

Morning
Depart Melbourne and travel directly to Brae where you will meet with #65 of the World 50 Best Awards 2016 owner and chef Dan Hunter. Dan will take you through his kitchen garden and food philosophy.

Afternoon
Take a leisurely trip via some of Dan Hunter’s favorite local wineries on your way to Brae where you will meet with Dan who will take you through his property. Enjoy a 10 course degustation lunch of local produce and incredible wines.  

Evening
Spend the evening relaxing in Brae’s luxury accommodation, set amid the Australian bush.

Day 2: Wines and produce of the Bellarine

Morning
Meet with chef Aaron Turner for a visit to a local farm to milk goats, make your own cheese and pick coastal greens. Return to his award-winning restaurant Igni and enjoy lunch with Aaron that includes your very own cheese, matched with local wines, before returning to Melbourne.

Afternoon
Return to Melbourne.
