DAY 1: A HANDS ON EXPLORATION OF THE YARRA VALLEY

Gin making at Four Pillars Gin, Yarra Valley, Victoria

Morning
Head to the rolling green hills of Victoria’s premier wine region, the Yarra Valley, a mere 1 hour drive from the city of Melbourne. Meet with chef Matt Stone and forage for native produce in the area. Arrive at Oakridge Winery for a hands on wine experience and tasting, then join Matt Stone on a gastronomic journey at his restaurant.

Afternoon
Meet with Kathleen Quealy from Balnarring Estate and get hands on with the wine making process – pick, select, stomp, bucket and plunge the grapes, then pump check the ferments. Visit Punt Road for some cider and craft beer, stop in at the Yarra Valley Dairy and try the local cheeses platter as the cows wander past. Visit Four Pillars Gin for a masterclass with their master gin makers.

Evening
Return to Melbourne and spend the evening at your leisure; overnight at your hotel.
