Day 1: From market to paddock to plate

Bendigo, Victoria

Morning
Travel to Bendigo from Melbourne (2 hours by car) to meet Sonia Anthony, owner of Masons of Bendigo and President of Food Fossickers, for a personalised food and wine tour through Central Victoria. Tour Victoria's largest micro green farm, B & B Basil, with owner George Bobin.

Afternoon
Meet Farmer of the Year Belinda Hagan at McIvor Farm Foods, who will take you on a tour of the farm. She will share their farming philosophy ‘Beyond Free Range’ of raising their old breed Berkshire pigs naturally, ethically and responsibly. Unearth the flavours of Heathcote’s world class boutique labels and meet some of the second generation winemakers from Bull Lane, Osicka Wines, Lo Stesso, Occam's Razor, Jasper Hill, Wild Duck Creek Estate, Foster e Rocco and Syrahmi. 

Evening
Sonia will welcome you into her private home for a truly Bendigo food and wine experience, prepared specially by herself with local wines to match. Hear the local stories and immerse yourself in a unique seasonally-produced, gourmet home-cooked country meal.

Day 2: The flavours of Daylesford

Lake House,
Daylesford, Victoria

Morning
Start your day with breakfast at Public INN, a European inspired Provincial Bistro & Bar housed in Castlemaine's original fire station. Travel to Daylesford and meet host Alla Wolf-Tasker, renowned Australian chef of one of country’s most awarded regional restaurants, Lake House, and a key leader of the movement that has brought seasonal, regional cooking to the fore in Australia. 

Alla will introduce you to the bakeries, small goods providores, wineries, her herd of wagyu and other quality local produce that make the region the ‘food bowl’ of the larger area and the envy of regional Australia.

Afternoon
Meet the family behind the Milking Yard Farm - fifty acres of rich red soil and lush green pastures nestled in the hills near Trentham in Victoria. Learn how they raise chickens, sheep and cattle and grow lots of old-fashioned fruit and veggies, slowly and naturally. Taste the farm’s produce offering truly unique textures and flavours with a specially prepared lunch by local chefs Annie Smithers and Michael de Jong.

Evening
Unwind and receive a special spa treatment at Salus Spa located within the grounds of Lake House, surrounded by waterfall fed streams overlooking Lake Daylesford. Join Alla Wolf-Tasker for dinner at The Lake House restaurant.

Day 3: Discover open range farming

Daylesford, Victoria

Morning
On route back to Melbourne, stop off at Real Eggs to meet the hens living in Daylesford, roaming free on thousands of acres of pasture. Learn why Real Eggs call this open and not free range. Enjoy breakfast prepared by Rosa Mitchell (of Rosa's Kitchen & Rosa's Canteen).
