Venture south where you’ll find some of Australia’s best cool climate wines, an abundance of fresh produce and a landscape of forests, dramatic cliffs, secluded swimming spots and fertile farming land. In April the region hosts a series of foodie events at unique natural attractions for Taste Great Southern - tour one of Australia’s best farmers markets, sample Southern Rock lobster and deep sea crab, lunch overlooking Peaceful Bay and dine amongst the treetops at the Valley of the Giants Treetop Walk.

 

DAY 1: AMAZING ALBANY

The National ANZAC Centre, Albany, Western Australia

Morning
Travel to Western Australia’s capital city Perth.

Afternoon
Arrive in Perth and transfer to your regional flight to Albany, WA’s first European settlement and renowned for its beautiful coastline, wildlife and abundance of fresh produce. On arrival in Albany your private transfer will take you to your boutique accommodation where you can refresh before dinner.

Evening
Enjoy sunset drinks and dinner at Garrison Restaurant, which has spectacular views over King George Sound and is part of the new National ANZAC Centre, voted Australia’s best attraction on TripAdvisor.

 

DAY 2: SIP, TASTE, EXPLORE

Torndirrup National Park, Western Australia

Morning 
Today you will explore Albany and surrounds with a local guide who will take you to some of the area’s best local producers. Oysters are one of the specialties of the region. If you are in town on a Saturday, the Albany Farmers Markets is one of the best grower and local artisan markets in Australia. Not only every imaginable type of fruit and vegetables, but also organic beef and lamb, venison, kangaroo, capretto, free range chicken, seafood, dairy, jams, fresh flowers and more.

Afternoon
Enjoy lunch at OranjeTractor Wines, a sustainable organic vineyard, restaurant and garden. HRH Prince Charles visited the property recently during his recent Royal visit to WA. Afterward visit Torndirrup National Park, stopping at natural attractions The Gap and Natural Bridge. On your way back to Albany drop into the Great Southern Distilling Company. 

Evening 
This evening dine at Albany favourite Liberte, at the historic London Hotel. A Parisian inspired wine and cocktail bar, Liberte has an amazing wine, beer, spirit & cocktail list and menu that draws its influence from both Vietnam and France, courtesy of owner and chef Amy Hamilton.

 

DAY 3: DENMARK

Giants Treetop Walk, Denmark, Western Australia

Morning
Following breakfast at Middleton Beach, depart Albany taking the heritage scenic drive heading for Denmark, exploring the wineries and gourmet food suppliers along the way. Enjoy lunch at the Lake House – a vineyard, cellar door and restaurant in picturesque lake and forest surrounds.

Afternoon
After lunch drive to Greens Pool in Williams Bay National Park, famous for its turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and granite boulders rising from the ocean. Check into your Denmark accommodation.

Evening
This evening enjoy a unique dining experience amongst the giant Tingle trees at the Valley of the Giants Treetop Walk with unique pop up dining curators, Fervor. Harnessing fresh native ingredients, coupled with locally sourced produce the team at Fervor led by Paul Iskov will create unforgettable degustation dining experience in a spectacular setting. 

 

DAY 4: HOMEWARD BOUND

Albany, Great Southern, Western Australia

Morning
Today you will depart Denmark… drop into a few boutique wineries and local producers, and enjoy a lunch of local fare before heading back to Perth. 

Afternoon
Arrive back in Perth where you will then depart for home.

Evening
Travel home.
