Before setting off on an incredible culinary adventure throughout the Australian Capital Territory, Eunsil Chang and Anis Nabilah got acquainted with Australia’s wildlife at the National Zoo and Aquarium.
After meeting with emus, kangaroos and wombats, Chang and Nabilah visited Helm’s Wines for an encounter with well-known Canberra Winemaker, Ken Helm. Helm gave the visitors a taste of his award-winning wines, including the Riesling.
Prominent Canberra establishment The Cupping Room was the next stop with Chang and Nabilah judging the coffees of Australia’s best coffee roasters and growers. Canberra is also home to barista Sasa Sestic, a partner of The Cupping Room and founder & director of ONA Coffee. Sasa was named the 2015 World Barista Champion at the 16th Annual World Barista Championship.
Later that day, Chang and Nabilah had a chance to see where some of Australia’s leading restaurants and chefs source their smoked goods. Susan Bruce hosted the visitors in the beautiful gardens of Poacher’s Pantry and served up a range of her smoked meats.
To finish off a fun, food-filled day both were treated to a spectacular sunset view with a hot air balloon flight with Balloon Aloft across the city.
