Nestled into a wooded hillside on the leeward side of an otherwise uninhabited 726 acre (294 hectare) island, One&Only Hayman Island resort weaves around a huge hexagonal pool which juts out into a crescent-shaped sandy beach on the aquamarine Coral Sea. Hayman Island is the closest Whitsunday Island to the Outer Great Barrier Reef, including world-famous Heart Reef.

HOW TO GET THERE

The most convenient way to travel to and from One&Only Hayman Island is via Great Barrier Reef Airport on Hamilton Island. There are daily flights from Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Transfer to Hayman Island is via luxury yacht, seaplane or helicopter. You can also fly to Proserpine Airport on the mainland and transfer to Hayman Island by seaplane or helicopter.

Four different types of accommodation add up to 160 stylish, sumptuous and spacious rooms and suites with magnificent views of the natural surrounds. The contemporary wood-accented beach villas, each with private pools, look out to superb water views in the Beach Wing. The spacious one, two and three-bedroom penthouses on the top floor of the Hayman Wing include personal butler service and uninterrupted views of Hayman Beach and the Coral Sea. The neutral toned suites in The Pool Wing, overlooking Hayman’s huge hexagonal pool, have swim-up access on the ground-floor or spacious balconies above. The Hayman Wing overlooks a family-friendly space, Aquazure, with a pool of graduating depths and a casual restaurant with gelato bar.

The exceptional restaurants and bars of One&Only Hayman Island serve up the freshest local flavours across an array of international cuisines. The gracious indoor-outdoor Pacific Restaurant overlooking Hayman Beach is the place to try a dazzling selection of fresh tropical juices with your buffet breakfast. Rustic Amici specialises in hearty Italian fare and has a wood-fired pizza oven. Bamboo caters to lovers of spice with Chinese and Malaysian-inspired cuisine. By day, families flock to Aquazure, the casual poolside restaurant that has a menu to please everyone. On the Rocks creates inspired cocktails and crushed juices poolside, while Aquazure is the place to watch the sun setting over the Coral Sea, sipping Champagne or a cocktail. You can also taste the creations of the resort's world-class chefs in private dining experiences – from gourmet picnic lunches on secluded beaches and romantic candlelit dinners served by your own personal waiters, to interactive dining experiences hosted by the chefs and sommeliers in the resort’s main kitchen.

Centre yourself in the suburb spa
Surrender to the signature Ocean Dreaming Massage where your massage is delivered as you float on the turquoise sea, surrounded by tropical fish and buoyed by a gentle swell. Otherwise enjoy a rainforest massage in an open-air spa cabana where the tropical ambience of birds, breeze and cicada chorus will melt away your cares. The spa centre is an oasis of serenity and privacy set in fragrant gardens. Enjoy remarkable resort activities 
One&Only Hayman Island offers an incredible choice of activities, from natural adventure to total relaxation and indulgent dining. Relax on the beach or at one of two pools. Coconut Beach is a stretch of white sand nestled at the western end of the resort while secluded Honeymoon Bay is a prime spot for snorkelling and sunset views. The hexagonal Hayman Pool, seven times Olympic size, features lots of day beds, private cabanas and a poolside bar while Aquazure is the resort’s infinity-edge pool with day beds, private cabanas and a poolside bar overlooking the Coral Sea. Enjoy complimentary beach front catamaran sailing, windsurfing, paddleboarding and double kayaking or do a longer guided kayak adventure. Go water skiing, tubing or wakeboarding or see the nearby reef on a semi-submersible boat. Do a hike through the island’s lush rainforest, where you’ll be serenaded by cockatoos and brightly coloured lorikeets. Play tennis or learn from an expert coach at the Jim Courier Tennis Centre. Work up a sweat on the squash court or challenge some new-found friends to a game of basketball. There is also a kids club for four to 11-year-olds and a teen program for 12- to 17-year-olds.
