The Championships held at Royal Randwick, gives Sydney that event. The two-day event features ten Championship races across two first-class Saturdays in April with over AUD18 million in prize money on offer. It is a dazzling array of time honoured races across each age and distance category. The Championships will become one of the most competitive carnivals in the world for local, national and international participants. It is the pinnacle of autumn racing, and is part of the broader BMW Sydney Carnival.

Tropfest, the world's largest short film festival, is a free, public, outdoor event. Set in the Sydney's beautiful Centennial Park, a summer calendar would be naked with out it! Each year there is a theme for the films submitted, known as the Tropfest Signature Item. The Tropfest Signature Item for 2014 is 'Mirror'.
