The Stewarts Information and Gallery has been compiled by Leigh Stewart, resident of Adaminaby and former resident of Old Adaminaby. A unique experience and fascinating memories of historic Adaminaby from 1870 to 2004. The display consists of historic photos, newspapers clippings, documents on the history of Adaminaby, Snowy Hydro, Kiandra, the ski run at Selwyn Snowfields. There are also map displays, an historic video and art exhibitions of local artists work. Books and videos are also available for sale.

This walk follows the old Summit Road - closed to public vehicles since 1976 - to Mount Kosciuszko. The walk passes through snow gums, heath and herb fields and provides sweeping views of the Main Range and Snowy River. After crossing the Snowy River (4.5 kilometre) the walk climbs gradually to Seaman's Hut (six kilometre), Rawson's Pass (eight kilometre) and the summit of Mount Kosciuszko. A further trail heads back from Mount Kosciuszko to the chairlifts of the Thredbo Alpine Village. Type of forest: Alpine, grassy woodland Walking distance: 4.5 kilometres each way Time: three hour return Difficulty: this walk incorporates steep inclines and descents; moderate fitness is recommended. How to get there: Kosciuszko National Park is near Jindabyne, a five-hour drive south of Sydney. The walk begins at Charlotte's Pass.

Located 4.2 kilometres from Bombala on the Delegate Road, the Platypus Reserve is an ideal spot to see platypus. Early morning or late afternoon are the best times to see platypus. The raised platform makes viewing easy for all age groups. Platypus can stay underwater for up to 14 minutes, but more commonly they will only remain under for between 60 to 90 seconds, so be patient and quiet when you are viewing this national treasure. The on-site information board provides you with comprehensive details about the platypus. The reserve is a great spot to sit and enjoy lunch or simply soak up the peace and quiet. Picnic tables are provided and there are two bird hides to allow you to really experience the bird life.

Steve Williamson’s Tackle Shop has the largest range of fishing tackle hire in the Snowy Mountains. Kosciuszko National Park with 673,524 hectares is an area of outstanding beauty with glacial lakes, limestone caves, grasslands and woodlands. In winter the Park is host to some of Australia's best skiing conditions, in spring and summer, the mountains are ablaze with wildflowers and crisscrossed by walking tracks, many above the tree line providing spectacular views over the roof top of Australia. Mount Kosciuszko is the highest point in Australia at 2,228 metres. Count Paul Strzelecki, who climbed it from the western side on the 15th February 1840, named it after a Polish general who fought for the colonists in the War of Independence and led an unsuccessful revolt against the partitioning of Poland in 1794.

Formerly the Kunama Gallery where, from 1972, Alan Grosvenor continuously displayed his work at his studio. Alan passed away in October 2012, leaving behind a lifetime of beautiful landscapes that depict aspects of the Snowy Mountains Region. Renamed Kunama Snowy Mountains Centre for the Arts, the Gallery and surroundings will now showcase the work of artists, sculptors and authors. There will also be a permanent exhibition of Alan Grosvenor's work.

The historic red brick building at Railway Park was once the convent for the sisters of St. Joseph. It now houses a beautiful array of locally produced lavender products, local historic information and tourist information. Essential lavender oil distillations and talks can be arranged with prior notice. A visit to Lavender House allows you the chance to soak up the history of the area and experience the delights of lavender.
