Celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin, this fascinating exhibition at Queensland Museum South Bank examines the events and influences that shaped one of the most important figures in the history of biological science. Darwin's book, the Origin of Species, changed the course of human thinking about evolution and our place in the world. The ideas he proposed were so controversial that even today they are not universally accepted. Featuring early editions of Darwin's books and scientific tools of the era, the highlight is a tree trunk bearing a carved inscription from Darwin's historic voyage aboard the Beagle.
