The surf is up, and so is the sporting spirit, when professional surf and lifesaving events hit Australia’s coastline over summer. Watch the world’s top surfers ride the renowned waves of the Gold Coast, Newcastle, Margaret River and Bells Beach as part of the World Qualifying Series. You can perfect your laidback surfer pose at the accompanying music festivals and beachside parties. There are also lots of lively surf carnivals happening on beaches across Australia between November and April. Celebrate our long lifesaving tradition as you watch everyone from ‘Nippers’ under the age of seven to ‘Ironmen’ and ‘Ironwomen’ battle the waves.
