Tamworth Country Music Festival
Tamworth Country Music Festival provides a chance to experience Australia's country music artists at their best. The event is recognised as one of the top ten music festivals in the world. You can hear every sort of country music in every sort of venue from the giant Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre to clubs, theatres, halls and giant outdoor stages in parks. It is a casual event held in the height of the Australian summer attended by more than 50,000 people. The Tamworth Country Music Festival has launched the careers of artists such as James Blundell and Keith Urban.
Adelaide, South Australia
WOMAD is the World of Music, Arts & Dance, founded by the musician Peter Gabriel in 1982, and WOMADelaide is the Australian WOMAD festival. Over the past 20 years it has become one of Australia’s favourite outdoor festivals. WOMADelaide runs over four days in Botanic Park in inner-city Adelaide. The program features performances and workshops on seven stages by the world's best traditional and contemporary musicians, dancers and DJs. There is street theatre and visual artists, cooking programs, an environmental discussions program, and ‘Artists in Conversation’ talks. There is also a marketplace of around 100 food, retail and charity stalls.
Port Fairy Folk Music Festival

Port Fairy is the charming historic sea-side village found on the beautiful south-west coast of Victoria. This independent, community run, ‘folk, roots and beyond’ music festival presents major international and national artists over a huge four day festival. Around 500 performances are held in undercover venues in The Arena and around the village including concerts, theme concerts, workshops, classes, talks, dancing and comedy acts. A diverse program covers musical genres including roots and rhythm, country, world sounds, comedy and cabaret.

March - April
There is non-stop entertainment for all the family at the National Folk Festival held at Exhibition Park in the nation’s capital, Canberra, over Easter. Hundreds of the world’s best musicians take part in a cultural celebration of traditional and contemporary music, dance, poetry and storytelling. Almost 200 different acts over the five-day festival provide entertainment, classes and workshops across multiple venues. There is also a festival marketplace with market stalls to explore and a special program for children. The Festival creates a village atmosphere which celebrates the traditions that have created Australia.
Mildura Country Music Festival
September - October
Mildura Country Music Festival is Australia's biggest showcase of independent country music artists. The festival runs for ten days with more than 100 artists performing at venues around Victoria’s Mildura and districts. Each day thousands of fans are entertained at both indoor and outdoor venues in the warmth of spring and the best country music. The festival culminates in The Australian Independent Country Music Awards, a gala show where the annual awards for Australian independent artists are presented. Every taste is catered for with line dancing, country rock, bluegrass, bush ballads performed by the banks of Australia’s legendary Murray River.
Sunshine Coast, Queensland
The Woodford Folk Festival is an event of international standing held annually over six days and nights between Christmas and the New Year. More than 2000 performers and 580 events feature local, national and international guests. The program features concerts, dances, street theatre, writers’ workshops, a film festival, comedy sessions, acoustic jams, social dialogue and debate, folk medicine and a children’s festival. There are also circus performances, late night cabarets, parades and a spectacular fire event. The Woodford Folk Festival is held on a 500-acre environmental parkland located in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Camping is available on the site.
