Bicheno’s Glass Bottom Boat operates from Bicheno, on Tasmania's east coast from September through April. The cool temperate waters offer excellent viewing of the creatures that live there and the luxuriant and rarely seen plant life is a spectacle itself. Your guide has many years of experience and can offer comprehensive and knowledgeable interpretation. Every day is different and the effect of the East Australian current is at times dramatic with many different life forms travelling in it. The trips are subject to weather, so please telephone ahead for a daily update on conditions and sailing times. You can also check the blackboard at our office/museum at the Gulch in Bicheno. Your Quad Bike Adventure departs from stunning Coles Bay on the East coast of Tasmania and gateway to the Freycinet Peninsula. Tours begin with a half hour training session to learn the basics of riding the quads, including safe ATV handling and riding technique. From here your guide takes you on an unforgettable journey through the coastal forest along 4WD tracks to either of 2 stunning destinations. Ride to south Friendly beaches, a pristine white sandy beach that can otherwise only be accessed by foot or by 4WD. Or travel through boulder strewn valleys to Bluestone Bay and then on to admire the Coastal Cliffs surrounding Cape Tourville Lighthouse. Our exhilarating Half Day Explorer includes both destinations and includes an appetising lunch. We place a strong emphasis on interpretative tours of the National Park and pride ourselves on providing our clients with a full appreciation of this magnificent coastal environment with its rich cultural, historical and environmental heritage. Maria Island Ferry and Eco Cruises provide tour services around Maria Island, in Tasmania’s South. Maria Island is a wildlife sanctuary within a superb National Park. It boasts an eclectic mix of World Heritage convict history, wilderness, pristine beaches, a protected marine reserve, and a bonus of sharing the island with its wildlife. You have many options to explore Maria Island, with various levels of walking and mountain bike riding ranging from easy to challenging, and short to overnight. The Maria Island Ferry travels daily between December and April. You can also join us on a cruise and walk to view the majestic coastline including the Fossil Cliffs, Mount Bishop and Clerk and the Painted Cliffs, then step ashore to see it up close. We have mountain bikes for hire and can organize a lunch pack for you so you can enjoy an even bigger taste of Maria Island. Triabunna is a 75 minute (84 kilometre / 52 mile) drive North-East of Hobart, and then Maria Island is a 40 minute ferry trip from Triabunna.

Bay of Fires Dive offers scuba diving opportunities in Binalong Bay on Tasmania’s north-east coast. Bay of Fires Dive is Scuba Schools International affiliated and provides dive charters and instruction at Binalong Bay. The six-metre (19.6 foot) Haines runabout boat takes divers to the many sites along the coast. Most dive sites are no more than 15-minutes from Binalong Bay boat ramp. Bay of Fires Dive proprietor, Peter Paulsen and dive instructor Bruce Annear, have a wealth of diving experience and knowledge. Peter is a long time resident who has an extensive background in abalone diving and fishing. He has dived the area extensively and is highly knowledgeable on the Bay of Fires coast. Bruce has been involved in diving for over 25 years and instructing for 10 years. He has dived extensively along Australia’s eastern coastline and several locations overseas. He has been actively diving the Bay of Fires area since moving south from Melbourne.

Bicheno Penguin Tours takes you to see fairy penguins at dusk on Tasmania’s east coast. The nightly evening tours offer a rare and thrilling chance to visit a private rookery. You can watch the fairy penguins (also known as the little penguin) emerge from the ocean and head for their homes. Established by Bicheno locals to protect the penguin population, the tour lets you get close to the penguins without disturbing their nightly journey. Part of The Great Walks of Tasmania, Freycinet Experience Walk is a guided trek along the Freycinet Peninsula on Tasmania's east coast. The four-day walk involves both coastal and mountain walking. The Freycinet Experience Walk takes you along deserted beaches, up pink granite Mount Graham and through the heart of the rich native heathlands of the Freycinet National Park, including Wineglass Bay. Each evening you return to the award-winning and environmentally sensitive Friendly Beaches Lodge for an evening meal featuring local produce and regional wines. You have the added luxury of a hot shower before sleeping in a comfortable bed. The Walk covers between 30 and 37 kilometres depending on which walking option you choose. Regardless of your route choice you will travel from the southern to the north tip of the Freycinet Peninsula in a continuous journey. You also do not have to carry a heavy backpack. No one else except fellow walkers and the four staff will be at the Friendly Beaches Lodge, making it a special place to truly unwind. Art of Nature is a unique three day journey hosted by Freycinet Experience, MONA and sculptor Peter Adams that will particularly inspire the art and nature lover.
