Incorporating a great weekend of entertainment over the Queen's Birthday long weekend this event is a highlight on the Australian Eventing calendar. Comprising three phases; dressage, cross country and showjumping, 3 Day Eventing is one of the most challenging and exciting equestrian sports. International 3 Day Events are graded according to level of difficulty with stars awarded to indicate the Event's grading. Melbourne International 3 Day Event is a 3 Star, the second highest grade, only surpassed in difficulty by events such as the Olympic and World Equestrian Games. Conducted in the beautiful surrounds of Werribee Park Mansion and the National Equestrian Centre, only half an hour from Melbourne, MI3DE is not to be missed. Spectators are well catered for with the dressage and showjumping phases held indoors at the equestrian centre. The cross country course winds through the State Rose Garden and formal grounds of Werribee Park Mansion. Outdoor hospitality marquees on the Cross Country Course plus an expanded trade village, food court and wine and food show ensure an eventful weekend for all!

Melbourne is proud to host the first ever Australian PAX event. PAX is the largest consumer games event in North America, first held in Seattle in 2004 and nearly doubling in size each successive year and expanding to a second show in Boston in 2010. A festival celebrating games culture, it connects the world's leading game publishers with their most avid fans while providing an inclusive community environment. PAX Australia will combine the exciting program from the international shows with local content and community events. International guests, speakers, musicians and developers will join local game industry representatives to showcase games and community events in Australia. PAX Australia will be held at the Melbourne Showgrounds from 19-21 July, 2013 and will be run by ReedPOP in conjunction with Penny Arcade.

The Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) is an iconic Melbourne event with a devoted audience. Garden DesignFest is the largest designer open garden weekend held in Melbourne, Started under the patronage of John Patrick this event commenced in 2004 and has since raised some $285,000 for worthwhile charities. The event attracts visitors locally, interstate and internationally. The 2012 event continued to account for every possible taste from family to formal, traditional to artistic and native to Hollywood. In all, 26 gardens, all designed by landscape professionals including Paul Bangay, Fiona Brockhoff, Rick Eckersley and Steve Taylor were on show. Each designer was in attendance at their garden to meet and talk with visitors about their garden and answer any questions they had.
