Fortune hunters flocked to this region in the 19th century to in what was the world’s greatest goldrush. Today, visitors continue to depart Goldfields all the richer having discovered the regions delights including great art galleries, specialty shops, gastronomy and a fascinating and highly interactive history.
The Goldfields region is just an easy 90 minute drive from Melbourne with sister cities Bendigo and Ballarat both providing good bases from which to explore the region.
