The High Commission for Canada in Australia is responsible for Canada's interests in Australia and a number of Pacific island countries and territories including the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu. Disc Golf is played at Eddison Park using the same concepts as club/ball golf, except you throw a disc (frisbee) from tee-off to hole. The hole is an elevated metal basket, into which the disc lands. It is free flying frisbee fun. Open to play disc golf at any time with your own disc or frisbee. Makeup your own course by playing from hole to hole through trees or around them. This picturesque carousel delights children and adults alike with its air of olde-world charm. Most of the horses and elephants have names. See if you can find out who is who. The merry- go-round started life in Melbourne in 1914. The fifty two hand carved wooden horses and two elephants were specially imported from Germany. The twisted brass upright poles came from Scotland. After extensive restoration work, the merry-go-round began operating in Canberra's Petrie Plaza in 1974.
