Mount Hay at 933 metres north of Leura is a distinctive rounded basalt peak that can be seen as you travel the Great Western Highway and Bells Line of Road. It is one of a number of basalt capped mountains in the area. Along Mount Hay Road is Lockley Pylon which provides excellent views of Mount Hay. From Lockley Pylon experienced and well prepared walkers can choose to descend into the Grose Valley and the Blue Gum Forest.

Bakehouse on Wentworth is an organic sourdough bakery and cafe. The dream became reality in 2002, when a passionate baker, dedicated to his craft opened for business in Blackheath. Shelves stocked with a display of hand moulded sourdough loaves and the scent of freshly baked bread filling the streets, enticed the senses of passers by. Sweet, tempting cakes, irresistible treats and mouth watering gourmet pies were created to complete the bakeries range. The journey has continued and the dream has expanded to four retail outlets.

This elegant Georgian sandstone inn is set on six acres of beautiful parkland with both indoor and outdoor dining options. The Inn was first licensed in 1845 and operated as a public house and a Cobb and Co staging post until 1873. A private residence for over a century, Ambermere Rose went through meticulous restorations before re-opening to the public in 2010.

Entering the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area at Glenbrook the first Discovery Trail you will encounter is the Glenbrook Discovery Trail exploring the sandstone 'Blue Labyrinth' beyond Glenbrook Creek gorge. Plan your visit at the Blue Mountains Visitor Information Centre at Glenbrook where local staff can help and advise on local road conditions, especially after heavy or prolonged rain. The park entry fee gives access to a road system connecting several picnic areas, lookouts over the Nepean river gorge, a camping area, swimming holes, an Aboriginal art site and bush walking tracks. Highlights include Euroka - a delightful picnic area and campground, Glenbrook Creek, Tunnel View, Red Hands Cave, Mount Portal and Nepean Lookouts. Starting and ending in Glenbrook village, the trail is 47 kilometres return, takes about three hours and involves narrow sealed and unsealed roads plus stops. National Park entry fees apply.
