Canberra isn't all new and planned. The region has a long and diverse history prior to its development as the nation's capital. Canberra tracks are six self-drive heritage trails that will enhance your appreciation of the ACT. Interpretive signs on each route bring Canberra's heritage to life. Track 1 is Ngunnawal Country, Track 2 the Limestone Plains, Track 3 Looking at Canberra, Track 4 the ACT Pioneers Cemetery Track, Track 5 Gungahlin and Track 6 is the Belconnen Heritage Track. There are also Canberra Tracks signs along the lakeside cycleways and many other sites of interest.

Woodlands and Wetlands Trust run a variety of unique Australian experiences ideal for people interested in nature, with a focus on woodlands and wetlands. Tours and events are based on the seasons and what's happening in the environment. Examples include monthly Twilight Tours at Mulligans Flat, bird watching at Jerrabombera Wetlands, the Science in the Sanctuary forum, guided Kids Walks during school holiday, and Wildflowers Walks in Spring.
