ISPS Handa Women’s Open Championship

A stellar showcase of the world’s best golfers will descend on Canberra in 2013 for the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open at the Royal Canberra Golf Club. The championship, which comes to Canberra for the first time in its history, is part of the 2013 Centenary of Canberra celebrations and will be the opening event on the global LPGA Tour. Early player commitments to the event include four time champion and World Golf Hall of Fame member Australian Karrie Webb. Webb has won seven major championships and will again tee up with the world’s champion women golfers again in Canberra.

The Perth International Golf Championship brings some of the world’s best golf players to Western Australia to compete for Australian golf’s richest prize money at Lake Karrinyup Country Club. The course is regularly rated as one of the top ten golf courses in Australia, known for its challenging layout and bushland setting. The tournament is co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour of Australasia and the European Tour. The inaugural event will be played in October 2012. International golf stars Jason Dufner; currently ranked number nine in the world, and Charl Schwartzel, the 2011 Masters Champion have been confirmed for the tournament.

First held in 1979, the Australian Masters has consistently attracted the best players from across the globe. The presentation of the championship gold jacket has become an Australian golf tradition. The event has launched many notable Australian golf players onto the international stage which reads like a who's who of the golfing world. The 2012 Australian Masters was held at Kingston Heath Golf Club which is ranked as the number two course in Australia and the 27th best course in the world. The annual Australian Masters is a ‘best in class’ event and a highpoint on the Australian golfing calendar.

The Australian PGA Championship each year attracts the world’s best golfers and thousands of sports fans to Queensland’s spectacular Sunshine Coast. Australia’s oldest professional tournament, the Australian PGA Championship boasts an incredible list of past champions. The course has been graced by the game’s best, with recent winners including Greg Chalmers (2011), Peter Senior (2010), Robert Allenby (2009), and Geoff Ogilvy (2008). The [Emirates] Australian Open is held at The Lakes Golf Club in Sydney, one of the most challenging championship golf courses in Australia. Players compete for $1.5 million in prize money and the coveted Stonehaven Cup.
