Aussie Youth Festival

Marking its second consecutive year, the Aussie Festival featuring RoadTrip Nation gives local Los Angeles students the opportunity to take a moment out from studies to consider a different path in life.   The new Work and Holiday Visa provides American students with the opportunity to live and work in Australia for a 12 month period.  The days activities will include information displays on the best ways to work, study and holiday in Australia as well as an Aussie BBQ and interactive screenings of Roadtrip Nation’s Australia series.

Come Walkabout in Beverly Hills

Los Angelinos are invited to come ‘walkabout’ this January when a little slice of Australia lands in the heart of Beverly Hills. This event is an onstage compilation of some of Australia's finest talent at the world renowned Carnegie Hall. Performers include Lior, Gabriella Cilmi, Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, Ursula Yovich Pei Jee and Pei-Sian Ng, Simon Tedeschi, David Campbell, Jimmy Barnes, Simon Burke, Alex Lewis and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in Los Angeles

The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra is known for being one of the most innovative orchestras in Australia. In its Royce Hall debut, the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra will perform Ross Edwards and William Barton’s Kalkadungu with Australia’s renowned didgeridoo player, William Barton, the world premiere of Graeme Koehne’s Sleep of Reason with South Australia’s twin cello players, the Ng Borther, Carl Vine’s V and Sibelius’s Symphony No 5.

Today, Tourism Queensland kicks off a global search to find applicants for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, “The Best Job in the World.” The six-month contract role of Island Caretaker will be based on lush and luxurious Hamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef. For a salary of AUD $150,000 (approximately US$104,000), the Island Caretaker will enjoy flexible working hours and the opportunity to explore one of the world’s greatest natural wonders. For six months, their job will be to discover and promote what the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef have to offer.
