The size and remoteness of Australian cattle stations define the life style. Often the next human settlement is a day's drive away. Ranch hands are needed to keep the cattle stations running day to day.
The center of the universe on any station is the "homestead," the main building where the manager lives. The most important aspect of life on a cattle station is that, from the moment you arrive, you are part of a close knit team.
Everybody relies heavily on each other, and everybody works hard from sunrise to sunset.
Because of the rugged nature of the Australian Outback a lot of the mustering is still done on horseback far away from the homestead. The whole workforce moves to camp where the mustering is happening. Expect evenings at the fire and sleeping in swags on the ground. Even though more and more stations are using helicopters and motor bikes to help with rounding up cattle, horses are absolutely essential to the operations of a large cattle station.
A week-long course will get you ready for the cattle station life. Learn to saddle and ride a horse, work the yard, muster cattle, shear sheep and gain stockman skills.
Courses are available starting at any skill level. At the end of your week of ranch “boot camp” our partner school will help you find a job on a station. Placements usually include room and board plus ample pocket money to travel with later.
Not ready to go pro yet? That’s okay. Outback life is completely different from city life! Satisfy your curiosity by spending a week working in training. You can always go back to the beach when you are done.

Are you traveling to meet new people and experience new cultures? There is no better way to meet and interact with the locals than tending bar at the corner pub.
Drinking is part of the Australian lifestyle, but Aussies take their alcohol seriously. To work around alcohol in New South Wales you must take and pass a course in responsible alcohol service.
Outside of New South Wales, RSA certification is not required, but having it will definitely give you an edge over the competition when you are on the job hunt.
Want to serve alcohol but have no experience? No problem. Our classes will not only make it legal for you to serve alcohol but will also take you through a two-day bartender “boot camp” plus a responsible gaming services course that will soon be required to work at any casino in the country.
Topics covered in the full course include fundamental skills for a person to work in a bar: customer service; beer, wine and spirit pouring; cocktail making; nonalcoholic beverages; identifying intoxicated customers, identifying problem gamblers, customer service with attention to exclusion of patrons; legal compliance. Once you are done you will be prepared to handle anything!
Already have skills? No worries, the RSA and RGC courses are available à la carte. Pick and choose the courses you need to make yourself the best candidate for the job.
