The Barramundi Dreaming is an annual community event held in the East Kimberley. The event showcases Indigenous local talent in a variety of genres such as music, dance, art and culture and provides an opportunity for local artists to experience performing, teaching and exhibiting to a large audience. Activities include basket weaving, bush toy making, Indigenous painting and textiles, jewellery making, didgeridoo and wood carving, hip hop, arts media, modelling, basketball and barramundi fishing tours. The Barramundi Dreaming Concert will be held on the Saturday, and will include performances from both local and nationally acclaimed Indigenous artists. It is a 100 per cent smoke, drug and alcohol free all ages event for all sectors of the community.

The Ord River Marathon is a marathon dragon boat paddle from Lake Argyle to Kununurra. Enter as a full team (14 paddlers and one sweep) or as an individual paddler and experience the mighty Ord River, Kununurra. Entry includes meals, a dragon boat and transport to the start and finish from Kununurra. With great food and good company the emphasis is on finishing the marathon 55 kilometres.

The next First National Kimberley Lake Argyle Swim will be held in May 2015. The distance is 10 kilometres or 20 kilometres which can be swum as a solo, duo or quad. Situated 75 kilometres from Kununurra, Lake Argyle covers 980 square kilometres; 21 times greater in size than Sydney Harbour. One of the most spectacular places to visit, the swim provides experienced swimmers with an unsurpassed outback adventure.
