Tasting Australia is a journey of eating and drinking, following produce from paddock to plate and a celebration of the real food heroes. The festival goes beyond consumption to uncover what South Australia’s food scene is all about: crusading local and seasonal produce; promoting its diverse culture; championing premium producers; indulging in a kaleidoscope of tastes and being treated to unforgettable experiences.

How to get there
Upon landing in Adelaide, it takes just 15 minutes from the airport to the centre of the city. From there, it is very easy to explore Adelaide on foot, by bike or by public transport.
To explore the regions, hire a car and head for the Adelaide Hills (30 minutes’ drive) or Barossa (1hour drive) or contact a local tour company for simple transfers.

Take a day trip with a difference
Tasting Australia Airlines offers up a unique way to experience fine dining in some of the most breath-taking locations in South Australia. Graze your way through the festival hub
Town Square is where the action is for Tasting Australia’s festival hub. The event is free and here you will find an array of local food vendors cooking up a storm, plus several bars offering up boutique beers, Australian wines and locally produced spirits. The space is designed for sharing and is alive with music and the aromas of delicious food and drink.
Learn a little
Invest in an afternoon to understand more about which regions make the best grenache or why chardonnay is on the upward trend. If learning about the art of wine is your thing, then the Masterclass series is for you. Curated by Tasting Australia’s beverage director, Nick Stock and the team behind East End Cellars, this experience will amuse, educate and entice all your wine senses. Crafted to entertain, hear the stories behind the wine without the boring tastings.
Visit the largest undercover produce market in the Southern Hemisphere
Adelaide Central Market has been a world-class attraction for 150 years, offering the colour and vibrance of produce markets from around the world all under one roof in the centre of the city. With hundreds of stalls, selling fresh produce, artisan bread, locally made cheese, wine and spirits, meat fish and so much more. During Tasting Australia, the market hosts demonstrations with local chefs and producers. A great way to discover unique local flavours.
Dine in a Glasshouse
Centrally located in Adelaide at the Town Square, the Glasshouse Kitchen is a must-do event. This high-end dining experience has one-off menus created by the Michelin starred and world’s best chefs accompanied by curated beverages.
