At Northside Books, there’s something for everyone no matter their age. The store features a huge collection of fiction and non-fiction books, spanning the topics of art, philosophy, history and travel as well as graphic novels and biographies. You can also purchase board games, greeting cards and journals here. If you need a break from reading, walk over to the nearby Chicho gelato parlour, for some creamy goodness.
Beans & Bunches
Beans & Bunches is tucked away in William Arcade, offering fresh and seasonal blooms in a relaxed and natural setting. Store owner Stacey is a dedicated and experienced florist who draws inspiration from all beauty found in nature.
When Stacey isn’t handpicking the freshest botanicals for her clients, she can be found preparing centrepieces for corporate events, bespoke bouquets and flower crowns for garden weddings. Beans & Bunches also runs a series of floral workshops and private lessons where you can learn about the principles of floral design and how to make beautiful arrangements.
Co-located with Beans & Bunches is Safari Record Shack, which is run by Stacey’s husband, John and looked after by their border collie, Bobby.

It's a treasure trove of urban and eclectic style. Here you'll find stationery, journals, bags, dresses and even kids toys. For the young at heart, you can bring home one of those good old whoopee cushions.

Ruck Rover Genreal Store
Ruck Rover General Store is full of personality. It's a bright and colourful shop filled mostly with vintage inspired pieces for women. That's not to say that there is nothing for the guys, as the store also stocks interesting socks and graphic tees.
With a penchant for indie clothes, patterns and general cuteness, Ruck Rover proudly supports small labels and independent designers. Here, you can also flick through Australian magazines, and browse greeting cards designed by local artists. Get a feel for what they stock online, but I find skimming through the racks in store, is always more enjoyable.

It's a perfect place to visit when challenged with the prospect of gift giving, as owner Kate is more than happy to help. While the store has a sign saying it’s "a large fancy room filled with crap", it’s far from it and definitely worth a visit.
