Itinerary details

Day 1

Upon arrival, you will be met by a representative of Cox & Kings who will transfer you by private vehicle to your accommodation. This afternoon you will be met by your private guide and vehicle for your half-day Melbourne city sightseeing tour. Enjoy a stroll in the Royal Botanic Gardens and tour the Shrine of Remembrance. Visit bayside areas including St Kilda (Melbourne's summer playground) and take a walk along the beach-side promenade. Other attractions you may want to include in your day are the Yarra River, The Golden Mile, Royal Exhibition Building, Parliament House and the Fitzroy Gardens.

Day 2

Melbourne, Victoria

This morning you will be met by your private guide and vehicle for your Melbourne culinary experience, hosted by a local culinary expert. Melbourne's reputation as one of the world's pre-eminent food and wine destinations continues to gain pace, a reputation due in no small part to its rich ethnic diversity and colorful past. This tour will take you on a culinary journey through Melbourne's fascinating precincts - Italian, Greek, Middle Eastern, Vietnamese, Chinese and more! Learn and understand how different cultures have educated the palates of Melbournians over the past 200 years and developed this city's obsession with quality food and produce.

Day 3

This morning, make your way independently to De Bortoli Vineyard, Yarra Valley for an exclusive tour and tasting. Immerse yourself in the story of the De Bortoli family, one of determination and triumph that started nearly 90 years ago in war-torn Europe. Enjoy the spectacular views of the vineyard whilst learning about their viticulture practices before touring the wine making facilities where you will have the rare opportunity to taste wines under production from barrels and tanks. Your guide will then spoil you with a decadent gourmet cheese and wine tasting. Afterwards, be delighted at Locale restaurant with a 3-course Italian-inspired lunch with matched wines.

Day 4

Today, depart Melbourne and commence driving to your accommodation in the Mornington Peninsula (approximately 1 hour). The remainder of the day is at your leisure and while in the Mornington Peninsula area, we suggest the following optional activities: take a dip at any one of dozens of beautiful bay beaches from Frankston to Portsea; visit Victoria's first natural hot spring spa at the Peninsula Hot Springs; explore the wonders of Mornington Peninsula and French Island national parks; tee up for great golf with spectacular views at one of the many championship golf courses; visit historic towns, homes and museums.

Day 5

Montalto Winery & Olive Grove at Shoreham, Mornington Peninsula, Victoria

Today, make your way independently to Montalto Winery for your shared behind the scenes winery experience. Experience first-hand the winemaking and grape growing process with this unique behind the scenes tour, hosted by Montalto's highly awarded wine making team. Taste wines straight from the barrel and learn about the intricate wine making process. Follow up the tour with a private wine tasting featuring Single Vineyard wines that truly reflect the location of the vines. Enjoy a long lunch with wine in Montalto's Piazza Café.

Day 6

Depart Mornington and drive to meet your vehicular ferry at Sorrento (approximately 45 minutes) bound for Queenscliff (approximately 40 minutes). Upon arrival, depart for your accommodation (approximately 3 hours along the coast or 2 hours and 30 minutes inland). Please note: arrival time at the Lodge can be no later than 11:00 AM. This afternoon, enjoy a shared guided walking tour. Begin your walk in the tea-trees with a few impromptu peeks out to the Southern Ocean. Next, drop down onto Johanna Beach, walking barefoot and enjoying the warm Australian sun. At the end of the beach, refresh with cool water or lemonade before walking or taking transport back to your lodge.

Day 7

This morning, join another spectacular shared guided walking tour. Beginning at Milanesia Gate, discover some of the most remote sections of the Great Ocean Walk. The ocean is your steadfast companion across 12.5 kilometers of rolling terrain today, beginning with Milanesia Beach. After a fleeting beach visit, it's a short but bracing climb that whispers of what's to come. Over the next few hours, your trail carves its way through deep gullies with tree ferns and towering remnant Eucalypts, with a lunch stop providing unsurpassed views across to Cape Volney and Cape Otway.

Day 8

This morning discover the secrets of local shipwrecks on your shared guided tour, commencing at one of Australia's highest cliff-top vistas. More than 300 ships have come to grief on this stretch of coastline and your first stop is aptly named Wreck Beach. If conditions allow, drop down to Wreck Beach and hear tales of pillaging and misfortune. Following lunch, thick Eucalyptus forest gives way to sections of moonscape. Your first glimpse of the Gellibrand River marks the entrance to Port Campbell National Park. After some 12.5 kilometers, reward yourself with a cooling river dip to end an active day.

Day 9

Begin the day with an easy 30-minute walk to the Twelve Apostles. Keep an eye out for two resident mobs of kangaroos across the hillside. No, there's not twelve, which may come as no surprise. But amongst the proudly standing seven, lie five recently discovered apostles beneath the ocean's surface. There's a viewing platform exclusive to walkers on the final stretch before your arrival to the Visitor Centre, the official end to your walk. Take to the skies to bid farewell with a 15-minute helicopter flight, followed by lunch in the sleepy fishing town of Port Campbell.

Day 10

Mount William, Grampians National Park, Victoria

Today depart Port Fairy and commence driving to your hotel in the Grampians (approximately 1:15 minutes). This afternoon is at leisure and we suggest a walk through the scenic Grampians Mountain Range - one of the state's most popular attractions. Straddling a rugged sandstone mountain ridge this 167,000-hectare park is noted for its Aboriginal art sites (it contains the majority of Aboriginal rock art sites in southeast Australia) and the great variety of its plant and animal life, including 200 bird species, koalas, kangaroos, possums, gliders and echidnas. It contains a third of Victoria's native plant species, including an array of colorful wildflowers for which the park is renowned.

Day 11

Today is a day at leisure in the Grampians. Find some of Victoria's most stunning landscapes in the region with Grampians National Park offering ample opportunity for outdoor pursuits complimented by fascinating history, buzzing regional centres and sublime food and wine.

Day 12

Depart the Grampians and commence driving to your hotel in Daylesford (approximately 2:15 minutes), Australia's premier spa center. Here visitors can combine the restorative powers of the region's mineral springs with epicurean sophistication, holistic spas, antiquarian curiosities, luxury accommodation and laid-back bohemianism. Organic growers, creative restaurateurs, resident writers and artists all add to the flavors of Daylesford.

Day 13

Lavandula Swiss-Italian Farm, Daylesford, Victoria

This morning you will be met at your hotel by your private guide and vehicle for a full-day in Victoria's spa country. This begins a day of galleries, fresh produce, lush farmland and stone farmhouse buildings. Enjoy morning-tea at the famous Red Beard Bakery, best known for its 100-year-old Scotch oven which is still in use today. You have the option to enjoy some time at a local spa or you may prefer a visit to the award-winning Convent Gallery with its picturesque gardens overlooking the township of Daylesford. Enjoy and savor a delicious lunch at one of Australia's best regional restaurants – The Lake House.

Day 14

Depart Daylesford and commence your drive to Melbourne (approximately 1:15 minutes). The remainder of your day at leisure and while in Melbourne, we suggest the following optional activities: visit the Victorian Arts Centre, the Victorian Gallery and Como House; learn about Australia's natural and cultural history at Melbourne Museum located in the Carlton Gardens; visit Federation Square, a unique cultural precinct in the heart of Melbourne; stroll through the Royal Botanic Gardens; take the "Art from the City Circle" tram ride or a walk through streets and laneways to experience the city's public artworks; visit Queen Victoria Market to discover the iconic food halls - the largest open-air market in the Southern Hemisphere.

Day 15

Bid farewell to Victoria and Australia. Drive to Melbourne Airport (approximately 30 minutes) and return your rental vehicle prior to boarding your onward flight.
