Day 1: Brisbane - Byron Bay
Collect your rental vehicle and drive south to Australia's easternmost town, Byron Bay, offering excellent beaches, lush rainforests and great regional dining.
Day 2: Byron Bay
Relax beach side or take a stroll through the surrounding rainforest. Feast on delicious local product and enjoy the facilities at the Resort.
Day 3: Byron Bay
A free morning before you experience the exhilaration of paddling your kayak with dolphins, turtles and whales that frequent the enticing waters of Byron Bay. Whether you are a novice or an experienced kayaker, your adventure will include paddling our magnificent protected bay, surfing the waves, encountering our abundant marine life and relaxing and enjoying morning or afternoon tea and all the Tim Tams you can eat on one of our pristine beaches.
Day 4: Hamilton Island
Return your rental vehicle to Brisbane airport prior to boarding your flight to Hamilton Island (not included). On arrival at Hamilton Island, transfer to your accommodation for a four-night stay.
Day 5: Hamilton Island
A free day to relax and explore Hamilton Island at your leisure. Get up close to native wildlife at Wild Life Hamilton Island or laze by the pool.
Day 6: Hamilton Island
Cruise through the Whitsunday Islands enroute to Hardy Reef where you will spend over 3 hours on the reef pontoon. The pontoon offers undercover seating and tables, sun decks, freshwater showers and changing rooms. There is a range of activities available including an underwater viewing chamber, semi-submersible rides for coral viewing and full use of snorkeling equipment and wetsuits, as well as presentations by reef experts. Optional activities are also available including onboard massage service, certified and introductory scuba diving and helicopter scenic flights (all optional activities at own expense). Enjoy lunch on board the pontoon.
Day 7: Hamilton Island
A free morning before boarding your cruise vessel to commence an afternoon Whitsunday Islands and Whitehaven Beach cruise. Cruise through the Whitsunday Islands to the world famous Whitehaven Beach. Afternoon tea is included onboard. The crystal clear aqua waters and pristine white silica sand stretch for over seven kilometers along Whitsunday Island, the largest of the 74 islands in the Whitsundays. Enjoy time to wander along the beach to your own secluded stretch, laze on the beach or swim in the azure waters.
Day 8: Sydney
Transfer to Hamilton Island Airport for your flight to Sydney (not included). On arrival in Sydney, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation, located in the historic Rocks District. The remainder of the day is at your own leisure.
Day 9: Sydney
Explore Sydney on a 5-hour tour that includes a comprehensive city tour, lunch at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia in Rushcutters Bay and a visit to Bondi Beach. In Sydney, see highlights including the historic Rocks district, Royal Botanical Gardens, Parliament House, Hyde Park Barracks, St Mary's Cathedral, Mrs Macquarie's Chair, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House. You'll also drive through Woolloomooloo, Kings Cross, Oxford Street and the suburbs of Paddington, Double Bay, Rose Bay, Vaucluse and Watsons Bay, enjoying informative commentary along the way.
Day 10: Sydney
A free day to explore Sydney at your leisure before an evening at the Sydney Opera House. Your Starry Nights package includes the Sydney Opera House Tour, Tasting Plate and performance ticket. See inside the world's most recognizable sails and experience this miracle of architecture and engineering. After your tour, proceed to the Opera Kitchen to enjoy a three-tier gourmet tasting plate. Sit back and be spoilt for choice as you relish some of Sydney's best cuisine and soak in the Sydney Harbour views. Then, enjoy an excellent Sydney Symphony Orchestra performance of choice.
Day 11: Hobart
Transfer to Sydney Airport for your flight to Hobart (not included). On arrival in Hobart, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation for a two-night stay.
Day 12: Hobart
This afternoon, discover Hobart's coastal beauty and maritime history on a 60 km, 2.5 hour eco cruise exploring its waterways, beaches, cliffs and caves. See iconic landmarks like Mount Wellington, Wrest Point Casino and the Shot Tower. Arrive at the Iron Pot, Australia's oldest lighthouse. The unique square spire is a testament to convict construction, still standing more than 150 years later. Voyage further south into Storm Bay to circumnavigate Betsey Island which is home to a variety of seabirds including the majestic White-bellied Sea-Eagle.
Day 13: Hobart - Port Arthur - Freycinet National Park
Collect your rental vehicle from the downtown location and make your way to the Port Arthur Historic Site. Travel back in time to Tasmania's "inescapable prison", that once housed criminals subject to harsh punishment. Today, the convicts and guards are gone, but the stories set in an equally dramatic landscape of craggy cliff faces and the remains of more than 30 buildings remain. Continue to Freycinet National Park for a 2-night stay.
Day 14: Freycinet National Park
A free day to explore the National Park at your leisure before joining a three-hour Twilight Sea Kayak. Experience the spectacular Freycinet Peninsula from a different perspective, local guide provides insight into the landscape and rich history.
Day 15: Freycinet National Park - Launceston
Drive from Freycinet National Park to Launceston, stopping at quaint historical villages and towns along the way.
Day 16: Depart Launceston
After breakfast, return your rental vehicle to Launceston Airport.
