Itinerary details

Days 1 to 2: Quamby Estate

Upon arriving into Australia, we transfer you to Quamby Estate where you'll settle in, breathe in the view of the surrounding mountains and prepare for your upcoming walk. This evening you have the chance to honor the beginning of your journey with a ceremonious dinner experience, indulging in the famous Hunter and Gatherer Interactive Chef dinner, connecting your palate to the gourmet food producers of the Meander Valley.

Days 2 to 7: Cradle Mountain Walk Overland Adventure Track

On the summit of Cradle Mountain in 1910, Austrian-born Gustav Weindorfer proclaimed, "This must be a national park for the people for all time." We set off on the track, venturing through ancient temperate rainforest, passing the dramatic glacially-carved Crater Lake tackling what some say is the hardest, steepest section of the entire Overland Track. Making your way to the top of Cradle Mountain, where the views are some of the best in the land down under. We drop into Waterfall Valley, traverse exposed alpine plateau, and venture through gorgeous myrtle-beech rainforest. Descending to the base of Mt Pelion West and the Forth River before it plunges into sublime Lemonthyme Valley. Keep putting one foot in front of the other as you tackle Pelion Gap, a plateau stretching between Mt Pelion East and Mt Ossa, providing inspiring views in all directions. You're thinking bigger today and make it your mission to summit Mt Ossa. At 1617m, Tasmania's highest peak.

Exploration takes you through icy-flowing waterfalls, past native gardens planted by trapper Paddy Hartnett's wife, during her long stints in the bush with her husband. From here, walk and wander through some of the oldest forest in the national park, with King Billy pines, nearly 2000 years old. Now, gaze northward towards Bass Strait spilling over the cliffs. The last day takes you beside the spectacular Falling Mountain to Windy Ridge Hut for your last evening on the track, where a celebratory dinner will be waiting. Your last day takes you to Australia's deepest natural lake Lake St Clair carved by glaciations over two million years. Birdsong helps us tune into this cool temperate eucalypt forest and reflect on the trek just experienced.

Days 7 to 10: Hobart

Roaring 40's Ocean Kayaking, Bathurst Harbour, Southwest National Park, Tasmania

Nestled on the southern tip of Tasmania, overlooking the Southern Ocean, Hobart is one of the most picturesque towns in the world, the kind of place everyone wants to live. Your time in Hobart takes you through their famed waterfront, on a paddle through the harbor, to one of the funkiest museums, and a seafood experience like none other. Your journey takes you to the water where you paddle behind the scenes of this vibrant waterfront, glide past an array of yachts, marvel at Hobart's wooden tall sailing ships. Tasmania is great for viewing wildlife in the wild, on this paddle you'll spot for Sammy the resident seal, dolphins and native sea stars. Savor freshly caught fish and chips from a floating fish punt, with the best view in town- straight from your kayak. The iconic harbor hosts the annual Sydney to Hobart yacht race and after spending just a few minutes in this eclectic harbor, you realize while it's the perfect terminus for this grueling race and climactic celebration. Zig zag through the cafes, restaurants, boutiques and warehouses.

Plan to be there on a Saturday and you'll witness one of the best outdoor markets anywhere. Salamanca market promises to engage all your senses as you wonder through the maze of crafts, souvenirs, wool attire, food trucks and buskers. Being a seafood capital of Australia, you embark on a voyage of culinary indulgence. Departing from Constitution dock, you cruise past fishing boats aboard a custom-built luxury vessel, you'll be one of up to 12 fellow explorers treated to an unforgettable day of indulgence and restoration. Enjoy oysters shucked straight from the water, rock lobster and watch your guide dive into the icy waters in search of abalone and sea urchin.  Your mouth begins to water as the catch is prepared into a delectable seafood feast brought to life with gourmet local produce, Tasmanian wines, craft beers, ciders and fresh juices.

Days 10 to 13: Maria Island Walk

Upon arriving into the coastal town of Triabunna you sail past the glistening waters of Mercury Passage to the isthmus of magical Maria Island. Look up, stay in the moment as you take that first step into an untouched beach in the Southern Ocean, just as explorers that came before you did. After a gourmet lunch, you wander by the crystal azure waters of Shoal Bay before venturing down to the tranquil Casuarina Beach camp and Haunted Bay. This evening, grab a glass of Tasmanian wine and stroll down the beach at sunset rejuvenating mind and body in preparation for what lies ahead.

From the comfort of your bed, let the chattering of the wattle birds slowly wake you out of your slumber and open your eyes to the first morning light that comes peeking through the forest. Today you leave only boot prints in the sand along five of the most beautiful beaches you'll ever see. Your eyes wonder between the dolphins in the sea, the sea eagles in the sky, and seashells beneath your feet. Take a refreshing swim in the surf before indulging in a candlelit dinner under the stars, featuring the finest of Tasmanian food and wine. Today, your guides quietly lead you through rich emerald forests and the world's largest stand of giant Tasmanian blue gums, where you attempt to connect with the landscape both scenically and sonically. Feeling up for a challenge? Climb through the rare cloud rainforests to the peaks of Mt Maria or Bishop and Clerk, take a moment at the summit to reflect on what brought you that very moment. The last night is enjoyed at the World Heritage-listed settlement of Darlington where you'll crash into the elegant colonial Bernacchi House and enjoy a closing dinner with local seafood cuisine, Tasmanian wine, and lots of laughs with your new mates.

The final day begins with a delicious breakfast followed by a walk around the northern tip of Maria Island. The walk takes you around the northern rim of Maria Island and through spectacular woodlands and forests, where you'll spot for rare endemic birds, wallabies and wombats on show. Continue along the inspiring sea cliffs of Fossil Bay before descending to Fossil Cliffs. Arriving back at Darlington we relish a celebratory farewell lunch before moving on to the next chapter in your journey.
