Taste of Tasmania, Hobart, TAS
Tasmania’s artisan food and drink producers pull out all stops when it comes to showcasing their wares at The Taste of Tasmania.
The Taste of Tasmania is one of Australia's most popular food festivals. Stallholders use their creativity to present a variety of dishes that showcase Tasmanian produce and producers. The festival also hosts a vibrant ticketed New Year's Eve party with live entertainment, culminating in the midnight fireworks to welcome in the New Year.
Reasons to attend
1. Tasmania might be small in size but it's a giant of the Australian food scene. The island state shows off its incredible produce and sophisticated culinary outlook at The Taste of Tasmania - a buzzing waterfront event that attracts 265,000 visits each year. With opening hours of 11am-11pm (on New Year's Eve it's open until 1am), it's possible to drop by to enjoy brunch, lunch, afternoon nibbles, dinner or even a late-night supper.
2. This year, The Taste of Tasmania will be going cash-free. Visitors will be able to use their personal EFTPOS debit or credit cards at all stalls, but won’t be able to use cash. If you don’t own a card, there will be a load and go card available for you to add cash and use at all stalls. No more waiting for change, or standing in line while the person in front pays in coins. Just touch your card and go!
