Leeuwin Estate

Leeuwin Estate is located at Margaret River in Western Australia, one of the world's premium wine regions. Margaret River is most renowned for its white wines, especially its Chardonnay and Semillon Sauvignon blends. Leeuwin Estate has earned an international reputation for producing outstanding wines. It produces chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Riesling and Semillon varieties.

Leeuwin released its first commercial vintage in 1979 and quickly attracted international attention. Leeuwin now exports to more than 30 countries.

The Leeuwin ‘Art Series' wine labels have become famous. Wander through the estate's art gallery to see the more than 100 paintings from Australia's leading contemporary artists that have been commissioned to feature on the labels. Visit the cellar door for an intimate and informal food and wine matching experience. Tour the winemaking process and sample the wines.

Enjoy the regional cuisine and spectacular scenery at the award-winning Leeuwin Restaurant, where rolling vineyards sit against a backdrop of ocean and forest. Special events are held throughout the year, including cooking classes, wine dinners and an annual alfresco summer concert series.

Leeuwin Estate is approximately a three-hour drive from the Perth CBD. For a memorable experience you can also take a 45-minute scenic charter flight from Perth to Leeuwin's private airstrip.

Voyager Estate

Located in the south-west corner of Western Australia, Margaret River is one of Australia’s largest and most distinctive wine regions. Its soils, microclimate, aspect, and maritime influences are the ideal characteristics for creating wines that are amongst the world’s best.

From the Cape Dutch style architecture and spectacular gardens, to the impressive Wine Room and award-winning restaurant, Margaret River’s Voyager Estate is an inspiring winery. From its beginning, Voyager Estate’s vision has been to deliver a wine experience not previously seen in Margaret River. 

Sensitive winemaking techniques have been at the heart of Voyager Estate’s winemaking philosophy for more than 20 years, creating its reputation for elegant balance and complex wines of great character. Voyager Estate predominantly focuses on Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc Semillon, Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Merlot varieties. It is also home to Australia’s largest underground barrel cellar.

At Voyager Estate’s Wine Room you’ll discover new wines and learn about the winemaking process. Take a tour of the Estate in the winery’s open-air bus, finishing with a guided wine-tasting or lunch in the restaurant. The grounds feature stunning gardens and lawns, in keeping with the Estate’s South African Cape Dutch style.

Voyager Estate’s restaurant showcases the property’s magnificent architecture, with soaring ceilings, antique wooden furniture, open fireplaces, brass chandeliers and custom-designed Dutch-inspired crockery. The menu changes seasonally with ingredients sourced from local food producers. Morning and afternoon teas are also served seven days a week.

Jacob’s Creek

The Jacob’s Creek Visitor Centre is the home of the Jacob’s Creek wine brand and is situated in Australia’s most famous wine region, the Barossa Valley South Australia and is just one hours drive from the centre of Adelaide. It has been recognised as a leading wine tourism site in Australia and was entered into the South Australian Tourism Hall of Fame in 2010 for winning Best Major Tourist Attraction three years in a row, it was also awarded at the 2011 Australian Tourism Awards, Best Tourism Restaurant and Best Tourism Winery.

The centre offers a memorable culinary tourism experience with a tempting combination of food and wine, and sweeping views of vineyards and hills. The stunning building features benchmark environmental design, based on principles of sustainability, recycling and energy conservation. 

Jacob’s Creek was the Barossa Valley’s first commercial vineyard. It takes its name from the river along which it was originally located. Today the winery produces Shiraz, Sauvignon, Semillon, Riesling, Cabernet Merlot and Chardonnay varieties.

Call in at the Jacob’s Creek Visitor Centre for a relaxed lunch matching food and wine in the award-winning Jacob’s Restaurant. Enjoy a glass of wine on the deck that overlooks a panorama of vineyards and the Barossa Range. Learn more about grape growing and winemaking on a tour of the vineyard. Seppeltsfield Winery

With a proud legacy dating back to 1851, Seppeltsfield is an iconic Australian wine estate.

The rich heritage of Seppeltsfield is an important part of any visit to this magnificent estate. The winery and village restoration is true to the vision of the founders Joseph and son Benno Seppelt. The historic 1888-built Gravity Flow Winery, built into the hillside on a series of terraces, is back in use today. The winery specialises in Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Shiraz, Touriga, Sangiovese, Nero Davalo and Palomino varieties.

Seppeltsfield is the only winery in the world to release a 100-year-old, single vintage wine each year. It is famous for its Centennial Collection – an unbroken lineage of every vintage from 1878 to the current year. On the Seppeltsfield Centenary Tour you can visit the Seppeltsfield Centennial Cellar and taste a tawny port made in your birth year directly from the barrel. Sample the fine reds from the Gravity Flow Winery, and the renowned 100-year-old vintage port. 

You can see inside the cooperage where the barrels are made, explore the heritage gardens, or sample a German-style beer at the traditional kiosk in the picnic grounds.

The Adelaide Hills is Australia's most vibrant cool climate wine region, acknowledged internationally for its distinctive premium wines, viticulture and stunning scenery.

Penfolds has been a prominent figure since the early days of Australian wine-making, and has an international reputation for producing wines of the highest quality.

The historic and heritage-listed Magill Estate Vineyard was established in 1844 by Dr Christopher Rawson and Mary Penfold just eight years after the foundation of Adelaide.

It was originally known as the Grange Vineyard, named after their new homestead ‘The Grange’, a cottage which still stands intact today amongst the vines. In later years, this vineyard would inspire and supply fruit for Penfolds Grange, widely regarded as Australia’s greatest wine. The vineyard was first planted with grenache from cuttings taken from the South of France.

This winery exudes the charm and character of its founders, whose pioneering spirit brought their family name into the homes of Australians more than 165 years ago. 

Today the winery produces Shiraz, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Pinot Noir, Traminer, Pinot Gris, Tempranillo, Viognier, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Riesling, Merlot, Semillon, and Sauvignon Blanc varieties.

Nestled between rolling hills and a picturesque coastline, McLaren Vale’s Mediterranean climate has created ideal conditions for grape-growing. The Shiraz grape is the most important variety grown in the region, accounting for about half of the region’s production. The climate and soil produce intense flavoured fruit and wine with a deep purple colour that can last decades in the bottle. 

Established in 1912, d’Arenberg is one of the most significant wineries in McLaren Vale. By the 1970s d’Arenberg wines had gained a significant national and international profile.

At d’Arenberg the traditional winemaking processes of the past have been maintained. Wines are made in small batches and capture the true flavour of the McLaren Vale region. All grapes are basket-pressed. The reds are still traditionally fermented and the age-old technique of foot-treading is still used.

The vineyard’s d’Arry's Verandah Restaurant is one of South Australia’s most highly awarded restaurants, set on a picturesque hilltop adjoining the cellar door. Book a private tasting and enjoy an in-depth look at the traditional art of winemaking. At the Blending Bench you can play winemaker and blend and name your own wine to take home.

Walk or cycle along the old railway line between Willunga and Seaford. You’ll pass through vineyards, past wild olives and old gum trees and get a feel for this gorgeous countryside.

More than 50 wineries are dotted throughout the McLaren Vale region. About 270 independent grape growers can also be found here. McLaren Vale is approximately 35 kilometres south of Adelaide.

The first vines in the Hunter Valley were planted by families in the 1820s, making it Australia’s oldest wine-growing region.

The Audrey Wilkinson winery dates back to 1866 when the Wilkinson family acquired the present vineyard site. The Wilkinson family were some of the pioneers of the Australian winemaking industry and established the winery after studying winemaking in France and Germany. The winery is named after Audrey Wilkinson, who inherited the vineyard at the age of 15 following the death of his father. Audrey was blessed with a wonderful sense of taste, and produced some of the finest wines in Australia. By the early 1900s, Audrey Wilkinson had collected awards around Australia for his Hock, Claret and fortified wines. Large quantities were exported to London.

Today the Audrey Wilkinson winery makes hand-made wines using state-of-the-art winemaking techniques. It produces award-winning Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, Verdelho, Chardonnay, Rosé, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz varieties. 

Visit the on-site museum housed in the historic old winery, where the original vats and wine and barrel making equipment are on display.

There are also two guest cottages on-site offering accommodation for families or up to six couples to stay, relax and enjoy the privacy and spectacular beauty of the vineyard. 

The Audrey Wilkinson vineyard is located in the foothills of the Brokenback Mountain Ranges with 360 degree views of the Hunter Valley. The cellar door is open every day of the year except Christmas Day. The Hunter Valley is approximately two hours’ drive north of Sydney.

Josef Chromy Wines cellar door and restaurant is a stunning location to experience superb Tasmanian wines and fine cuisine made with fresh local produce.

Josef Chromy Wines is located in the Tamar Valley, approximately a 15-minute drive south of Launceston.

Moorilla Estate, Hobart

Moorilla Estate offers a rare and exciting combination of wine, food, art, and luxury accommodation, close to the Tasmanian capital of Hobart.

Moorilla is the newest winery built on Tasmania’s oldest vineyard. Small quantities of boutique cool-climate wines are produced on the estate, with varieties including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Merlot and Syrah.

Moorilla Estate shares a site with the thought-provoking Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), which houses Australia’s largest private art collection. Stay overnight in the modern, luxurious MONA Pavilions, which are named after Australian architects and artists. 

There’s an array of dining choices on site, from the French-inspired cuisine of The Source Restaurant, to shared plates in the Moorilla Wine Bar; and the more casual MONA café. Moo Brew beers are also produced onsite.

Moorilla is located on the Derwent River, 12 kilometres north of the city of Hobart. A delightful way to visit the winery is by catch the ferry from Hobart up the river.
