Be part of a life shifting, unearthing traditional Aboriginal experience. Ngaran Ngaran Culture Awareness offers an opportunity to discover Gulaga National Park or the Bega Valley region that hold sacred significance for the Yuin Aboriginal people from the New South Wales south coast. Dwayne ‘Naja’ Bannon Harrison, who has nine generations of passed down cultural teachings, invites you to come walk and listen to stories passed down for thousands of generations, led by the land’s traditional custodians. Tours include basic or glamping accommodation, a welcome to Yuin country, a guided walking tour of Gulaga Mountain or a coach sightseeing tour of the Bega Valley. Traditional sacred ceremonies can range from a Whale Dreaming to a traditional healing ceremony, traditional dancing, Indigenous flavoured meals that include the sounds of the Yidaki (Didgeridoo) and a traditional yarning circle where you share your experience, insights, knowledge, and Dreamtime stories for the duration of the experience.

Owner and guide, Juan Walker is a young Kuku Yalanji man from the Daintree Mossman area. He will take you to the secret spots others don’t get to see, and share his local bush knowledge and Aboriginal history. He will give you a wonderful insight into the marine life along the spectacular coastline of the Port Douglas area and show you the waterfalls and hidden swimming spots inside the rainforest. By keeping groups small, all participants enjoy a personalised experience. Juan can also tailor longer trips to suit specific interests.
